No problem @KanPanic , there will be plenty of folks on this one. Even though they won't all be driving Tacomas, it will be fun!

I will be sure to tag you on the next one, and please tag me I you plan a ride in our area.

    Happy Trails!

Now. April 11th. There will most likely be no snow. There was only just a tiny bit when I was up there last weekend.

Ever see or hear of wild pigs in southern Oregon?

I have not heard or seen anything recently. I had heard rumors of sightings 10-20 years ago but nothing recent. Oregon fish and game has reported wild pigs in a couple Southern Oregon counties before. There are so many in California that I wonder if any have made their way up north. I think the Oregon fish and wildlife squashes anything pretty quickly as to not let Oregon get like California or Texas. A guy I know just out of random luck got two outside of Fossil Oregon about 8 years ago. He has not seen any since and if there are any left they are on private land and kept on the down low.

Well it was a gorgeous day on the mountain today!

5 rigs on this trip, 3 Tacomas, a Tundra and a Jeep Wrangler met up at Little Pantry in Merlin.

I snapped a pic of our rig and @Passwordw1nn1ng 's nicely built rig.

We stopped about 2/3rds of the way up for our first photo op.
There were some great views of the Chrome Ridge from the top.

Rick taking in the view from the top.

Tony (@Passwordw1nn1ng ) treated us to some dry aged ribeye and filet mignon he brought to share and cooked up on his pocket rocket. It was EXCELLENT! (Especially the ribeye, my favorite cut of beef) Thanks Tony!
Then we went to one of my favorite lookouts where you can see the Rogue river, Grant's Pass, Merlin and Hugo in an unobstructed, panoramic view. We got all the rigs turned around safely on that little narrow road before snapping a couple more pics.
Our final stop was at the pretty little ponds on the way back downYou can just see the larger, lower pond in this pic.

No one broke anything or got stuck. It was by no means anything hardcore. It was a nice easy trip.

Thanks again for coming and sharing some good grub, @Passwordw1nn1ng !
And thanks to everyone else even though you won't read this since you aren't on here.
I ride this mountain all the time as it is almost in my backyard, but it is so much more fun to go and share the views with others!

    Happy Trails!

Thanks for having me. It was wonderful to expand my knowledge of trails in our valley and make new friends. Let me know when you plan another trail ride.
