Look up Bend N' Hickory trail on Youtube... It's over near Toccoa Falls College. I would never take my truck through there, at least not while it is my DD!

There is one section called Twisted Frame I believe... We walked the "road" and that section looks pretty dicey!

Yes. First time there and solo. Although there were others that could have saved my bacon in an emergency

Thanks, I'm planning to go soon but I think I'll take the easy route down lol. I have ZERO off-roading experience and a new truck so I'm not risking anything.

It's a nice road up to the top. You can turn around there. Corbin creek is supposed to be ok coming down the other side but I didn't want to try it. My wife had had enough.

Going to tray mountain today. I know it's short notice, but if you'd like to join let me know.

If you think about it and have time take some pictures for us of the "rough" parts. I think we should all plan a meet one day so us novices can try it out but I won't be able to make it today.

Will do. My brother will have his GoPro on hand. So I should be uploading a video.

Brother forgot the GoPro. lol I have to say. That was pretty dicey though. Got about halfway up and there was nothing but ice. I started sliding and had to turn the truck into the embankment otherwise this would have been a really sad post. I only live 30 minutes away from the trail so I will be returning very soon. Probably should wait for it to thaw for a day or so.

Yeah, Let's set that up. How does next Saturday sound? We could meet somewhere in Helen?

I was thinking more towards the Spring when the weather breaks; I'd probably plan a camping trip around it as well and it's still too cold for a tent at night.

I'd be down for that too. I'm only about half an hour away, so I plan on going there often. So whenever you're ready let me know.

Tray Mountain RD is real easy and you should be completely fine in 2wd. Once you get to the top and it splits it will get a little bit more difficult: more rocky (nothing crazy like Beasly Knob), tighter, and wetter. Overall its probably do able in 2wd unless its wet.

You can go up it in 2wd if you pick good lines and have a rear locker

Which side are you talking about going up? The first part of Trey Mountain Rd i felt was really easy but I'm not sure about Chimney Mountain Road.

Chimney Mountain Side. It's been done, it would be tough but fun. But I have 4x4 so I always go up that way. Going down is easy too, just have a locker or friend to help
