Don't care what anybody says, eibach and 5100's at .85 is still a harsh ride...I have no experience with OME coils...

like mentioned, if you start messing with suspension components....it's expected.

I tend to agree about the Eibachs. I've got them at 0 and they are still very noticeable stiffer than stock. On twistie back roads, they're great but on a pot hole riddled city street, they're stiffer than you may like. OME coils are considerable softer than the Eibachs.

    Eibachs are 620in.lbs

    OME 885's are 580in.lbs

That being said the OME's should be a much softer ride

I am curious about something. The Baja edition Tacomas come with Eibach springs rated at 650. According to an article I was reading, they are slightly softer than the stock springs. In the article, it said Baja edition only road slightly firmer than stock. My question is that due to them using 9100 series Bilsteins on the front instead of 5100?

Not to thread jack but I am looking for about 2 inches of lift without making the truck ride like a brick. Suggestions??

I'm aware... 40# is a decent amount though. OME 886's are 650 and people have said they ride like a dump truck on an unarmored truck.

Decent shocks will make a big difference, especially shocks where the compression dampening can be adjusted. A 650# coil will be stiff regardless of the shocks but good shocks do make a big difference. I haven't riden in a Baja Tacoma so I can't say how it rides from personal experience.

Yeah, I went for them after reading all kinds of threads of how great they rode with 5100's at .85". WRONG. I was very disapointed when I installed them...oh well, So i've been looking for some OME to replace them with...maybe the lower spring rate will help.

People saying they're smooth as fuck are in denial and are forcing themselves into believing it was the best purchase ever. hah...

OP, that's my personal experience with with eibach's.

Yeah, I've read about that...the setup is good on freeways/smooth streets...as soon as you hit a dirt road...it's seat belt time and get a hold of something...or you'll end up in the passenger seat...happens every time I go to the desert...I have to be moving at 5 mph and brake on every little bump if I don't wanna hit too hard...that's why I love my dirt bike...until i go long travel in 3 or 4 years...haha.

My .02, Get the ome setup for the front and all pro rear standard spring pack. Total cost will be under 1000 and your ride will be great! My truck rides excellent with this setup. Here is 1 thing to check out, and many people have gotten a much better ride by adjusting the tire pressure! I run my tires at 30/25psi front/rear, my e rated tires at 40-60psi ride like sh@t! Check the tire pressure, and lose the spacers and blocks ASAP.

It is interesting to hear the different opinions on the Eibach coils. On a back, twistie road or the highway, I love them. They really took care of any truck roll and substantially reduce any diving under heavy braking. On a chopped up city street, they feel like they'll rattle the whole damn truck apart! The ride is controlled, meaning the tires are staying planted and I can steer and maneuver the truck while this is going on but it is a bit unpleasant. Same with washboard roads. For bigger bumps, they soak them right up. I don't hesitate to hit raised crosswalks or speed bumps at 30+ MPH (even had the truck airborn doing this ) and the Eibach/5100 combo handled it well.

Shock valving very well could be the answer. The ride isn't to the point where I'd say it's a bad setup or even to the point where I'd spend the money to swap it to an OME setup but I do think it is very stuff.

I wouldn't mind swapping mine out to 883s or 884s with Nitrochargers if I had the money and time to do so but again, not at the top of my list of things to blow my money on just yet. :)

A lot of great stuff here. I was leaning Eibachs but now am seriously considering (and researching) the OME 883's...
