Has anyone found a good aftermarket lockable rifle case that replaces the stock plastic under the back seat in the crew cab?

I shoot a fair amount of midrange/longrange prone matches and I'm coming to the conclusion that the only realistic option for shooting equipment is a shell.

Yep. I drive the Dodge or the Grand Wagoneer when it gets serious.

I know I'll get plenty of people chastising me for this, but there's plenty of usable, hidden, but unlockable space behind the rear seat if you pull the stupid plastic dividers out. Definitely enough for a 16" rifle in a soft case that's also carrying all the goodies that go with your rifle. There's also plenty of room to get it out quickly by just folding forward the driver's side portion of the rear seat.

 

Yeah. Some of my toys won't fit in the Taco. They will, but I would rather not haul em in the bed.

 

Buying a 2018 DCSB OR in a couple months. I’ll be curious if either of my SBRs would fit. In my 02 extra cab there is the perfect space between the back seats for a pistol safe. Just riveted it to the floor. Easy to reach/ open from the drivers seat. Not sure the new truck will have such convinient space.

 

I have an access cab with the 6ft bed, when I bought it it had a truck vault that is built in to the bed of the truck. it has 2 pull out drawers that ar the length of the bed, both have combo and keyed the same locks on them. I don't want or need it. You do need to have a canopy. It's pretty cool.

 

No SBR needed.
