Received my Rigd Ultraswing today at a small discounted price. With License Plate Kit plus LED Light. Also got the back up camera relocate kit for 2020 on. Packaging was impeccably done, powdercoating is flawless. I have attached some beginner pics until tomorrow when I put it all on.

I have had 3 different Wilco Off-road Hitchgate models. The Solo, Solo High Clearance, and Offset. One immediate upgrade to this is the latch to open and close it. And I mean it’s a serious upgrade. The LED Plate Light is another huge upgrade, no splicing drilling. Plug n play right into the bumper plug in.

I have a love hate relationship with Rigd and both of the tire swings I have installed on my old 4R and my Taco. First of all, the secondary pin system is a PITA! It never wants to lock in, and when pulling it out, it gets stuck pretty severely. I ended up just not installing it at all unless I was going on the freeway. The second problem is how low it sits (even when the wheel plate is mounted to the top) and how far it sits behind the gate. It really extends the length of the truck substantially. After adding the table with tax and shipping, you are pushing north of $2k for the Rigd, which is high clearance bumper territory. With a rear bumper, you gain higher clearance and if you decide to run a swing out, the tire sits substantially closer to the tail gate. The Rigd is built like a tank, don't get me wrong, but I'm selling mine and moving on with other options.

Makes sense to me we all like what we like. You gave it a shot and it didn't work for you, you didn't just give a bad review of a product you didn't own which I am sure people will.

My pin pulls out with very minimal effort. This thing is stout, and yes it hangs down but they matched the curve of the hitch so it’s equal to factory. Plug n play plate light is awesome. Now time to install the angled tire plate

it does! OP, when you get your spare mounted, take a look how far back the tire sits away from the gate. I just don’t understand why Rigd designed it this way?

I can only think the reason is to keep the number of angles and complexity down. If they try to make it much closer to the body, they would either have to shorten something, or even have bends to bring it closer.

Only issue I have is the tire rubs on the arm. I have moved the tire plate to the lowest and highest and it still hits the arm.

As far as spacing you mount a Rotopax there between the mount and tailgate

That's surprising, I guess it's not something that was considered. Might have to run a spacer on the tire carrier

Looks great but my only complaint would be that extending the hitch at the same height would make your departure angle worse. If it works for what you need it looks like a good piece of kit but I think a high clearance rear bumper with an integrated swing out would make more sense for the applications I need it for.

Just want to make sure it's clear that I'm not shitting on this product. It looks good and I'm looking forward to hearing more about it, just not what I need. I do have some buddies who are potentially in the market for something like this and will send them here to check it out.
