This is the last thing you want to run if departure angle is a concern. I'm running King extended travel with full RCI skid package, sliders etc. so I can go anywhere and departure angle is most certainly a concern. You will scrape the F out of this, which is why Rigd just came out with some gimmicky skid plate/step to add to their Hitch. It's kind of a joke.

Any jiggle in the tire while you are driving, or does it stay solidly in place?

Not one ounce of movement. I love the fact that even at its highest wheel mounting spot which mine is at. There is zero rear view blockage. Not sure if anyone knows this. But the guy running or owning Rigd, is the former boss at Wilco. He left before it changed hands or right after that. So he made his own type of tire carrier with great upgrades over the place he worked. Integrated License Plate Holder included with purchase. A real upgrade of a License Plate light that plugs right into the hitch plug with no splicing etc. And a pre drilled threaded hole and kit to relocate the back up camera. All 3 Wilco Hitchgates I ran did not come with a license plate relocate kit, and the light was kind of cheap and small and needed modification into the trailer plug for it to work. And on all 3 Wilco Hitchgates I had to drill holes into the product to mount a camera. More to come.

the Wilco doesn’t retail for $1400 either…all those improvements and additions cost money, so it’s not apples to apples. When my spare was mounted at the top of the Rigd, it was definitely viewable from the back and partially blocked my view, so not sure how you can state “zero rear view blockage” because that’s just erroneous.

I have a Softopper and the tire is just barely to the bottom of the Clear Window.

But yes $1400.00 is the price for the Rigd Ultraswing as is and another $55.00 for an actual sturdy light kit going right into the factory plug. And it comes with mounting holes already on it for accessories, and a license plate mounting kit included. The opening and closing mechanism is by far superior than the Wilco with a long pin to keep it closed

Wilco no mounting holes for anything, and another $60.00 for a plate relocate mount and another $100 for a small light with some hanging wires you have to splice to get it to work. Another $173.00 for a mounting plate to be able to use any accessories with the Wilco.

$1200.00 as shown with no mounting holes for anything. $60.00 for a Plate Mounting Kit. Another $100.00 for the Plate Light Kit and another $173.00 for a mounting plate to mount accessories. So far $1533.00

$1399.00 as shown with many mounting holes $55.00 for a License Plate Light kit. So far 1454.00

Now lets compare Wilco's Offset $1507.00 with better locking mechanism and a few mounting holes like the $1399.00 Rigd.

$1507.00 as it sits and no license plate relocate kit, so add another $60.00, and add another $100.00 for the cheap light and dangling wires you have to figure out how to install. Totaling So to get one comparable to the entry level Rigd Ultraswing you need to spend $1667.00

So you saying $1400.00 is a lot compared to the Wilco, is untrue if you actually buy a comparable model from Wilco it will cost you more.

Now on to the mounting of the back up camera to relocate it so you can actually use it.

Rigd makes and integrated camera relocate kit and already has threaded mounting holes for it.

So for the initial investment the Rigd is definitely the way to go, and one of the biggest pluses is Rigd's Customer Service which Wilco's is total shit.

Ran the wires for the LED License Plate Light. Opens up nicely.

I've used those cable mounts before and they never stay on long enough for me. I'd recommend buying some automotive 3M tape and replacing the tape on the brackets with it. They will stick until you need to pry them off down the road.

I loved my RigD a ton! The secondary pin was a PITA sometimes. My buddy destroyed his hand and sliced it pretty good. My pin was bent and it as if someone poured dirt into the hole but thats offroading am I right
