The right side bushing broke on my 2018 tailgate. This caused the bottom right corner to get bent. I replaced the bushing but the damage is done.

Any tips on bending it back? I wanted to check here before I make the problem worse. The paint is all still looking good.

Talk to a good PDR person. Else if you’re into DIY carnage, a soft rubber mallet.

Went to a PDR place and they said they couldn't do it and that I should take it to a body shop. Body shop gave me a rough estimate of $600 because it needs to be painted. Body shop said the paint will crack when it's bent back.

I think I'm going to give it a shot. I'm considering heating up the paint first to hopefully not crack it. Anyone want to make a wager on how badly I'm going to mess it up?

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    Or just leave it... :notsure:

Did it. It's still there but it looks a lot better.

I don't know if the heat was necessary but I did it anyway. I used a 1lb rubber mallet.

Did you remove the tailgate and back the area with a dolly?
