hi guys. Imhaving an issue and need help diagnosing. Since i have had the truck ive noticed that it seems rough like something is grinding on the drivers side front wheel when i turn right. It sounds like a bad wheel bearing. Ive changed the bearing 3 times now and this only remedies it for a couple weeks each time.

Ive checked the tierod ends, ball joints and control arms are fine too. I thought maybe it was something in the front diff like a bearing or something. I did the oil impregnated bushing mod from ecgs a couple uears ago when i bought the truck. I just changed my diff fluid last week and the oil came out crustal clear so it seems unlikely that anything is grinding in there or there would be metal shavings.

It seems to be getting worse and its really bugging me. Any clues?

Probably the wheel bearing if it corrects the problem for a short while. Could be the bearing was pressed in wrong, and gets destroyed.

Are you changing just the bearing or the hub it rides in as well? If you're only pressing new bearings in it could be the hub itself is worn and causing the new bearings to go bad early.

What kind of bearings are you using as well? I've put those napa bearings in some cars and they seem to just consume them. I've always had good luck with brands like national or timken or an original replacement

I do the bearings myself. And when i say it remedies them i should say it get a bit better. Doesnt get rid of it.

I always use timken of skf bearings. I am replacing the hud aswell. I tried getting the bearing off the hub the furst time which was impossible, now i just replace the whole thing. The baring isfine. No wiggle n its smooth when i turn it. Also dont feel any vibrations in the control arms when i turn the wheel... i really dont know what it could be

Stupid question but are you sure nothing is catching your tire?

What kind of tires. I have a set of new tires that makes a rumbling noise on left turns only. Have you tried swapping a different set on to see if the noise is not the tires?

Just a question. Hard to diagnose shit over the internet. My left lower ball joint developed a god awful noise a few months ago so it got swapped out. Maybe a direction to look. If you got access to a rack put it up in the air and spin the wheel on hard lock and see what you can see.
