Yes kit comes with switch, relay and all necessary stuff to make them work on their own. I just wanted them to come on automatically with headlights and stuff

Are the off road fogs different than any of the others? How are the fogs versus the sport fogs or SR5 fogs?

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Since when are fog lights a replacement for headlights? I think you're missing the point.

I asked all the questions before purchasing to rigid. This kit give double the light output of the 2017 trd pro rigid oem fogs. Those are the ones i originally wanted but i wouldnt sacrifice light output

Coming from a rally perspectic and the "wide angle" fogs the trd model comes with reenforces this, fog lights are meant to shoot wide so you can see where you are turning into. And my sports fogs do just that. Driving slowly at night trying to place my wheels precisely, the first 10 feet on front of my truck are black. Turn the wide angle fogs on and its all lit up. Doesnt need to be super bright but they light all of the ground directly in front of the truck and the angle looks to be close to 170 degrees wide.

They are the first factory fog lights ive had that actually do what they are supposed to.

If i want to reach far out, i use my light bar.

The sr fogs are only 17 watts and trd models and limited fogs are 55 watts. These rigid are 20 watts but more light output than stock 55 watt fogs.

    No they aren't.

Fog lights are designed to throw light low and yellow to reduce glare in foggy conditions. The fact the fog lights only work with low-beam headlights makes them more akin to a "driving" or "auxiliary" light, especially how you're describing them.

Fog lights help you see in the fog by not causing glare which bright headlights that are high up cause.

    all tore up already
didnt mean to come off rough, this is why i was asking what purpose op needed super bright fog for. these are bright lights im sure, just have a difficult time calling a 6k led that does not light the ground infront or to side of vehicle a "fog" light and have issues with people running dittch lights, light bars, non adjusted 55w hids etc just cruising around on the road.

I wanted fog lights but brighter than stock and led so no light bulb replacement hassles.

I didnt want or need headlight replacement. These are bright enough to drive around town by themselves.

I will say the off road oem fogs are very good for a halogen light....im not sure sr or sr5 trims use he same.

Does the rigid harness and relay power the lights, or does the stock wiring power the lights

You can wire it either way. The harness that comes with it will power it separately or you can get the adapter and they'll work off the factory harness.

I agree, the factory trd fog lights are surprisingly good.

Yeah you are correct per the name...i have never had them help in a fog though...

But the fact that the sr5 gets standard foglightts and trds get wide angles lend me to think their purpose is for up front visibility.

True fog lights are yellow light as you mentioned. And yellows focal length actually focuses on your retina while reducing glare. White and blue focuses before and after your retina. I dont think working, true fog lights have been implemented in factory cars in a while excpet maybe in the luxury level.

I did second guess argueing the meaning of fog lights when their name implies fog. I guess i was going more towards the intended purpose of these lights because. 2.5 ft off the ground isnt going to cut under any fog anyway.

Yes i bought an hid kit for my wrxs halogen PROJECTORS, still hated the cutoff and sent them back. I now have a special hatred for trucks running hids in reflector housings blinding everyone..

    Not to thread jack though,

OP. Lights look good. Ive thought about changing mine out to match the led running lights but i actually prefer the warmth of the halogen bulbs at night during use. Guess im a wierdo!

I ended up calling Rigid and the lights come with a harness that is plug n play. Hook it up to the battery and mount the switch and you're good to go. Everything is integrated and already wired.

For those wanting a pattern closer to the stock trd or fog, but brighter, Baja designs squadron with wide cornering, aimed down about 5 degrees, is fantastic. Keeps a lot of light low, spreads plenty left and right to SEE ROAD MARKINGS (a primary need for fog lights imo), but still projects some down the road for driving.

IMO, fog lights are meant to replace headlights for driving in fog/dust/inclement weather, where you should be slowing down significantly anyways, so a lack of down-the-road projection isn't a problem. The scientist in my says that people who notice a difference in glare between yellow/selective-yellow and white light are only fooling themselves,so mine are bright white.

Just thought I'd give folks another perspective.
