Exactly! Fogs are there to help you when you have to go slow due to road conditions, which is why better fogs reach very wide left and right so you can see the edges of the road. They exist to help you stay on the road in fog/dust/bad weather. Color temp is preference, although the more "yellow" and lower color temps will reflect less in bad weather and should provide somewhat better visibility ahead than a brighter/bluer white.

OP's Rigid kit does not appear to be a very good fog light, based on the apparently narrow beamwidth vs the OEM fogs. Seems more like in-between a fog and a driving light...unless they can be aimed "wider" left and right for each side to cover more of the shoulder. That would be much more effective.

Do they really have to call it "Super White II"?
38 miles on it so nothing yet.
Is it possible to aim these far out to the sides to help see around bends in trails?

Get ditch lights or squadrons for that. For anything off road or away from people the Squadron series from BajaDesign is awesome.
