Mine is still stuck in Canada. Ben, you didn't slip a joint in there or anything, right? I'll send up a nice bottle of Whiskey for you, just do not turn me in since AK is a Dry state.

Lol we are far from a dry state my friend. Alaska makes some of the best brews in the nation. I'd love a good bottle of whiskey actually. Let me know if nothing changes in a few days, it has til tuesday to get to ya technically.

Want to say THANKS to Ben. I ordered 4 items from him and only 2 were in stock. He is shipping out the 2 and going to ship the other 2 later at no additional cost.

Must be some of those villages or something. TV really does a number on peoples perception of a place. Especially if it is from a reputable fact driven channel. They should really clarify some of that stuff in the monolouges.

Yeah, a lot of the villages are dry up farther north. All that means is they buy more listerine.

It'd be best to come up and explore the place to see what it's really like. The reality tv shows like to spin it their own way unfortunately.

I got asked once by a friend back home if they had trees in AK. And I know most of us have got the "how do you drive to/from the lower 48?!, is there a bridge or something?"

Lets get you what you want before we talk prices. I'm going to save you some money right up front though and tell you that if you don't already have lights, the new series (E2 SR2) will not make you as happy as the E-series or SR. The hyperspots are great lights, don't get me wrong, but they throw a pencil beam WAAAAAY down the road. Like, almost a mile depending on which one you get.

The Original series spot pattern puts light out at a reasonable distance thats still way out there. I'd say its on the edge of whats needed. You get all the lumens where you want them, on the road in front of you.

We did a completely unibiased test the other day at the shop and found that someone who had NO experience with LED bars, NEVER seen an E-series or and E2, picked the E-series as brighter even with the higher lumen count from the E2.

The new lights are awesome, don't misunderstand me, but I already have people returning them for E-series. It's hard to argue with hype and 'new-ness' though.

Think about it from this point of view, what advantage does it give me to steer you guys away from a more expensive light that will net me more income?

    Jus' sayin. :notsure:

If you're striclty off-road or already have a good 'fill light' they make an excellent companion light. Theres a reason the new RDS light is all spot, and not hyperspot.

well that is all great to know… guess i shouldn't have went with my inner "i want the newest shit out there" like i usually do lol

i started a thread on here trying to see if a bumper mounted or a roof mounted light would best suit me. My #1 use is going to be night beach driving. headlights and fogs with regular duallys mounted on hood hinges are useless out there. i should have at least gotten D2's for the hood hinges, but they didn't have them at the show i was at and i didn't want to leave empty handed.

maybe here would have been a better spot for my question.

thats why i listed a few different lights to see what i wanted to spend, because that is my biggest decider.

back to the new lights… i guess ill have to take your word for it on them, unless i see them in person between now and purchase time.

    thanks

If you've got big open spaces where no one is going to make you them off thats a different animal, but I'd still run two bars if I was going with E2 or SR2. Let the original fill out the front and really reach out there with the mew stuff. Thats the best combo you can get. Best of both worlds.
