Rigid makes a 1 meter extension (40197) but, you could go to an auto parts store and pick up some 14 gauge wire and make it as long as you want.

I'd recommend that. Wires cheap. Wires wire.

Main difference is the mount. The bracket is a lot uglier, but it uses a second set of bolts to lock down the angle, so it's more resistant to vibrations.

I don't know if I would call it uglier but, it is a lot bigger. The HD version also comes with a vibration isolator. Also know that the housing is slightly different so the brackets are not interchangeable. Light output is the same.

Ok. Now I need everyone's opinion. Should I get two set of regular pods or one set of d2s

If you can afford D2's I always recommend them, more light in the same footprint.

True, looks as very subjective. The new bracket just looks too bulky and not nearly as clean to me. But I do really like the extra strength. Gotta pick your battles I guess

Like Ben said, only deciding factor is price. Go as bright as you can afford :D

Two regular sets would be brighter than one set of d2s and I could mount spot and flood to cover the entire area. I just don't know how it'd look mounted with a pair on each side of the hood. Anyone good at photoshop? I'd appreciate it if anyone could show me what it'd look like

If you're talking raw lumens, then yes two pairs of regular Dually's would be 80 lumens brighter, but that's only 1.2% more output? It could go either way. Slightly brighter, but also $20ish more. I think two pairs would look better than one when mounted to a bumper, and I like the look of the original reflectors over the D2's. But from my experience, the D2 (driving or wide) would probably have a smoother beam than a pair of spots and a par of floods overlapping. As far as two on each side of a hood bracket, I think that might look a bit awkward and crowded, better off with a single light on each side, or maybe wait for the Dually XL since the Q-Series are stupid big..

But really can't go wrong with either. If I was going solely on looks/practicality without any future plans, then regular Dually's it is! But if I was going for output with the possibility of expanding later, then D2's. I've bought and sold too many lights for my truck, I learned the hard way that brighter is always better.

Man, I think I'm up to 10 or 11 pairs of Dually's/D2's bought (hopefully another pair this month with Ben's help), and working on bar number 3 now, with 4 and 5 soon to follow  And before that I had 6 HID KC spots's, and 6 halogen KC flood's!

post a pic of your setup. I'm only running 1 bar and one set of cubes right now. Will hopefully be 3 bars and two sets of cubes around the first of the year. But it'll be a total of 84" of leds

These are mostly up to date. I moved the hyperspots from the mirrors to the bumper, and stole the diffused Dually's from my bed for the mirrors. So now it's 8 on the bumper, and 2 on the mirrors. Plus the 20" and 40" SR's. Getting ready for upgrade the 20" SR for an SR2! Then I'm going to swap the diffused Dually's in the rear for some Diffused SR's pretty soon.

Last count before I swapped 6 regular Dually spots for hyperspots I was at 67,xxx raw lumens including the retrofits.

Nope, that's the beauty of LED's. Idle at 14.2v (~625 rpm) with a slight modification to the stock alternator control circuit, and only drops to 13.8v with all of the lights on! And as soon as it is above ~1,000rpm its back to full power. Way back when I had Halognes it would drop down to 11.8v when all of them were on, and the HIDs would go to 12.4v. Only LED's from here on out lol
    Thanks :D
