I’m pretty sure the right thread already exists but if someone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Looking to change out stock rims on my daughter’s 2009 TRD Sport, 4x4, 6cyl, Double cab.

I believe this is the stock size:
    7.5Jx17 ET30

Will probably get Wildpeaks or Cooper Discoverer 265/79R17’s

    Appreciate any input…

    Thank you T4R!!

Just wanted to see what size rim would accommodate a 265/70R17 tire. Would 17x7 work?

That’s a question that is hard to answer.
Different tires and thread pattern, along with each truck being “slightly” different.
Most of the time, they won’t rub. But sometimes they will rub a little bit on full lock turns.
They will run the front mud flaps.

You can sort through the link below and see examples of both, rubbing and no rubbing.

The question is, if they rub. Are you ok with it?

You have both a tire and rim questions. If you go to the tire manufacturers websites they have a chart with the spec for their tires.

    https://www.falkentire.com/wildpeak/at3w#size-list
For your 265/70/17, the approved rim width is 7-8.5, so yes a 17x7 would work. Your next problem to solve is what offset/backspacing will work without rubbing when turned.
Tacoma are a bit finicky when it comes to rims, you just can't put any rim 17x7 you see on. You have to have the proper backspacing/offset and make sure they clear the calipers.
Discount tires website is pretty good and indicating if a particular rim will fit your Tacoma. Do your research see what others are putting on and get something similar to be safe. Just dont buy any set of 17x7 rim off FB marketplace or offer up.

    Good Luck

If wanting new wheels. Go 17x8 0offset and call it good with the 265/70/17

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
That size (<32") should work fine with the stock wheels. Changing the offset may cause rubbing problems.
