I have a ‘15 Tacoma XSP-X. It has the black spoked rims pictured below. I really want some steelies, as I prefer the look. Are there any pitfalls associated with going down to a ‘16 or ‘15 inch rim outside of making sure they have the TPM system? Mine are “17. I also have a 3” lift if that makes a difference. I’m going to go by a few used car lots and see if I can find someone to trade/upgrade before I try the buy and sell approach.

Also, I think I’d probably prefer more sidewall. Would anyone be willing to share a pic of their truck with bigger tires on 16’s or 15’s, especially if you have a lift so I can get a visual?

    Thanks. 721BDD36-124A-47B9-AA65-B35907C31668.jpg

I don't think 15 will clear the brake calipers. Maybe certain models would. I could be wrong.

I personally think 15" wheel with a tall sidewall tire looks really good compared to 16" or 17".

That’s part of what I’ve been trying to determine as I comb through old posts. Yes, I agree with you on the 15’s. Still holding out hope I can pull it off.

    Thanks for the reply.

Stock stellies should fit I would think but if I'm correct they would be 16's. Where are you State wise?

15’s won’t fit. 16’s came factory so you should be gtg. I run steelies for the winter, and alloys for the summer. Did the tpms delete and no more light.

If you wheel it at all, 16s have better bead retention.

I actually drill with a Reserve unit in Asheville and will be there at the end of this month. Maybe we can work something out. What do they look like?

Only way to fit 15's is with spacers
