Anyone happen to know the width of the rim on the 245/75R17 spare? I’m hoping I don’t have to drop the spare to find out :)

Gonna have to answer my own question…the 245/75R17 spare has a rim width of 7”. So no chance of putting a wider tire on there.

So…I guess a spare worth anything is going to need a different rim.

if its just a spare run a skinny or heck run a wider it doesnt matter. It's just to get you home.

    You can easily run a 275/70R17 on a 17" rim for a 32 and a bit tire.

Are you going bigger than 33"?

Aren't the regular Taco rims 7" wide as well? I'm lost here. If there's an actual width concern, you can take your pick of common 255 pizza cutter sizes.

You'll probably run out of room for the diameter before you exceed the rim width for your spare.

Won’t a matching wheel and tire fit into the spare tire location?

My buddy put a 285/70R17 on his spare 17x7 wheel and apparently it all fits good. It is also my plan.

You can easily put larger than stock tires on a stock wheel without issue...
Lots of guys running 285/75/17's on stock sr5 wheels...

I should have waited before I purchase the 4gen off-road wheels for my SR5, I was afraid the 7in stock wouldn't work with 285's

Well technically most mfgs recommendation a 7.5" minimum rim width for 285s, but as mentioned, lots of people run them on 7s anyway.

Yeah. I should be good with the 4g offroad wheels 7.5 width. Plus, I was having a hard time deciding on aftermarket wheels without actually seeing them on truck being it have such a weird offset..lol
