I was looking to get new tires and wheels for my 2010 trd tacoma and I thought I would settle on the 16x8 steelies from wheelers offroad and BFG AT 235/85/16 tires. However looking up the specs on BFG's website it states Rim Width Range min max 6" to 7" in. Since the rims are 8 inches I am assuming these wont fit? Can anyone recommend a tire that is of similar proportion if that wont fit? Thanks

I had this issue when I decided to go with a 9" wide rim and I wanted to stay with 265's...
I was told that they will fit at 1" wider, but the issue is some/most tire shops won't install them so they can't be held liable is something happens. You could call a local tire shop and ask them if you really want that set-up. I like to be on the safe side and stick with what the manufacturer suggests.

Why are you going with a 235?

The concern is probably that they're too skinny for that rim size. Try to find a tire with more width......

I had to convert to inches -
    235/85/16 = 31.7 x 9.3 / 16

I've run 33 x 12.50" and 35 x 12.50" wide tires on 8" wide rims on my jeep. In offroad terminology, too skinny a tire on a wheel can cause you to break the bead easier.
