I've been browsing for a few weeks now and finally got an 07 DC so i figured i would register and become a contributing member. Anyways, i have noticed on 2 of the rims on my 07 Taco sport have started to pit and even show signs of rust. Is this something that will be covered under warranty to be fixed? If im not mistaken i think toyotas have a 5yr/ unlimited mile warranty on rust and corrosion but i dont know if the rims would be covered. I plan on calling toyota in the morning but a heads up would be appreciated. Thanks.

Milage is 22,6xx...pretty low for an 07. I know the truck was originally bought new in virginia so the snow and salt has something to do with it but other than the spots the rims are in excellent shape.

if its not covered by toyota just sand them down with a 3m pad and re clear them it'll cost you like 10 buck and a few hours of your time or go black

A friend has a sport and his rims were chipping etc. The dealer replaced all of his for free under warranty. This was just over a month ago.

Welcome to the forum too btw and good luck with the rims, it has been done.

Just a quick update...i took it in to the local dealer and the manager approved the replacement but need a factory rep to look at them and also approve it. They called 2 days ago and wanted me to drop it off this morning. Only 2 of the rims had light rust but they are replacing all 4 no questions asked. I think they are all about customer service after everything thats going on.
