My wife' s wedding band fell between windshield and dash in passenger corner. We heard it hit metal. We can't see it now. Any ideas about where to look or how to get to it?

First gen? Taking the dash out is not as bad a second gen, still not fun.

Got to drop the steering wheel to get the dash out.

May get lucky and it fell to the floor. Start yoga exercising to limber up so you can look under the dash.

    Good luck and report back.

Remove glove box by squeezing sides while opening all the way to gain access to the HVAC box possibly sitting back there. Good luck.

Leave it there, and now you can never get rid of the truck!

    ..good luck.

You can try hitting panels with your hand until you hear the ring rattling. That'll help you narrow down where the ring fell to.

Into the vent holes, or just between the dash and glass?

If just the glass/dash area to the side, pop off the glovebox, the kick panel, and try to pull back the carpet by the firewall.

There's a steel round rube that runs behind the glove box, that may have been what u heard hit.... Its hollow and would have sounded "tinny" compared to it hitting the firewall or ecm.

    Ecm is behind glovebox......

I say remove kick panel because that could have caught the ring on its way down and saved u a hassle.

Obviously look thru the glovebox very well when u open and remove it.

The ecm is surrounded by a steel case like an older hard disk drive so its possible u heard it bounce off that and into the kick panel.

I know theres a ton of plastic in the HVAC system in the cab, so I'm hoping when u said u heard a metallic sound, that it didn't go in a vent.

LULZ, to the op. pull the glove box, kick, carpet, and bust out the flash light. You got a hell of a night ahead of you. Question though? Why was the band up on the dash?

Clean out your shop vac and put on the crevasse tip and try to get it out.
