Nice! I'm actually leaning towards a Tundra CrewMax at the moment. The local dealer said he can get me one at $31,500 (SR5 4.6 V8) before taxes and fees through the Costco auto buying program. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me considering most used ones with 100k miles on them still go for around $28k.

Just no pleasing those CA folks. Last year they were whining that it was too dry, this year too wet. Next year maybe they will finally be in the Goldilocks zone!

A coworker had a 2013 that got slammed by a guy who ran a red light. He got himself a 2017 Tundra. It's a pretty nice rig.

I hate to talk up Ford on a Toyota forum, but the new F-150 with the 5.0 V8 is top notch in the full size segment. Plenty of power, amazing sound when you tromp on it, and I was averaging nearly 20 mpg on a 1,000 mile business trip.

Ecoboost isnt as high of mileage as they say. A lot of the big trucks are lying about the mpg. The 2017 tundra mileage estimates are a joke

I wonder what will become of that truck once the insurance claim is settled. The water line inside the cab doesn't look that high. I would guess most, maybe not all, of the important electronics stayed dry.

OK, I see now the water did get higher than the front bumper. Still, it seems like replacing a few electronic boxes and changing all the fluids would make the truck drive-able except for the carpet and seats.

Ha! 30 minutes of rain everyday is ideal... multiple inches of rain in a few hours is disastrous here because our infrastructure is not designed to handle it.

Thanks for the input. I'm still deciding but I need to make a decision pretty quick here... I do like the Tunra a lot. Did you see the new 2018 Tundra TRD Sport they announced last month? Looks sharp.

    Thanks!

Dang, that's impressive gas mileage for a V8. Perhaps I should consider looking into an F150...

Oh yeah? Do you think 15 city and 19 highway is not accurate?

Any Tundra owners on here have some input on realistic MPG they are getting?
