    Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
    I also stumbled upon this thread by an accidental click, and I am glad I did. This is such a tragedy for his close friends and family, but also our nation. We are on a downward spiral, and I hope it ends soon. Too many people losing their live for senseless reasons. RIP Jay and prayers sent to your loved ones.

    ^Agreed
    Here is Texas we have the death penalty and I think it makes some people think twice about committing murders.

    Was in court Thursday, denied bond;

    MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- The suspect in the murder in Pike Road on New Year’s Eve is now being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond.
    Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Jimmy Pool granted a state’s motion during Jason Curtis Ferguson’s arraignment on Thursday to hold the man in jail without bond.
    Ferguson’s bond on capital murder and first-degree burglary was originally set at $1,060,000.
    According to court documents, Ferguson is accused of breaking into the rear of a home on Stableway Road in Pike Road on the morning of Dec. 31.
    James McCullom, 19, who was home alone at the time, was beaten, stabbed and shot by Ferguson, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department claims.
    Ferguson ran from police in his vehicle and then on foot after abandoning his vehicle in a wooded area off Vaughn Road.
    Ferguson was apprehended on New Year’s Day Evergreen Estates Mobile Home Park on Troy Highway in Montgomery.
    At the time of the burglary, Ferguson was out of the Elmore County jail on $15,000 bond on a charge of third-degree burglary.
    According to the state’s motion for no bond, Ferguson has been arrested numerous times as an adult and juvenile in Florida and at least three times on burglary charges.

    Not to dump on your parade, but I am a criminologist and that is not even close to being the truth. Rational people fear punishment. Murders' are not rational people and do not weigh the consequences of what they do compared to the punishment they receive. It has actually been shown when people are put to death, the crime rate in the area goes up.

    Holy cow! Can you fathom beating, stabbing and then looking a kid in the eye and then finishing him with a GSW?
    It's hard to believe a human is capable of such an atrocity but it happens every day. I hope that SOB gets corn-holed daily for a long time and then dies a slow miserable death.
    RIP Jay!
