RIP Tom Morey, inventor of the Boogie Board

    Born 8/15/36 in Detroit Mich., Died 10/14/21 in Laguna Hills CA.He was 86. He started his own surf shop after working as an engineer at Douglas Aircraft and n 1964 he started to experiment with surfboard shapes. After moving to Hawaii, in 1971 he shaped a 3 1/2 'ft piece of polyethyene into what would be latter called the Boogie Board and a seaside sensation. Surf Historian Jim Kempton called Morey the Ben Franklin of surfing. "He probably brought more people to ride waves then any single person in the histoy of surfing.
