I feel ya, I have a comically-short driveway and too many cars so my Taco lives 90% of it's life on the street in front of my house. For me it's a calculated risk; my other vehicles are older and custom and would be a lot harder (if even possible) to repair so at least for now my Taco gets to take the risk.

Sorry this happened to you, hopefully it gets repaired quickly. Personally I would turn it over to your insurance and let them deal with tracking-down the rental truck/driver.

My old truck (left) was totaled, although the insurance company said it was close. I was initially quoted on $11k to fix it, but it turns out that the frame was bent ever so slightly throughout and needed replaced. My wheel took the brunt of the hit, and the force evidently rippled through the frame. The body shop didn’t discover the bend, even after taking laser measurements, until they started trying to install the parts they had ordered. If your frame isn’t bent, I’d say you have a good chance of saving the truck, as your cosmetic damage looks somewhat similar to the $11k that they quoted me. Good luck!

True, I mean figuratively if nothing else..believe me I wanted to smack the ignoramus who dented the door of my wife's Rav4 in Sept and then had the balls to lie to my face even though I saw it happen

I am ok now, just worried about it after they repair it. Not sure if it's going to be the same.:-(
