Sucks man worst time to have accident . Every vehicle out there is so overpriced and hard to find . That insurance check will probably get you if lucky enough a sr5 . This shortage sucks ass .

yeah thankfully I have my brothers secondary vehicle I can ride around for a while. I just hope it’s not going to be a long drawn out process with my insurance adjuster. They should be getting back to me early next week

^ I'm glad you're okay and everyone walked away. I recommend you make sure to value your Tacoma properly with this current market. You need to start looking in your zip code, the cost from dealers for the same truck you have. I'm going to be sure the insurance company will only give you the blue book value. If you need to, hire a 3rd party adjuster to assist you.

If you can, start removing some of your mods and replacing it back with the stock one.

    Good Luck with your search!

A little of this and a little of that.

I’m glad that you’re not injured. ^^^Very good advice and something that I’ve dealt with when my daughter had a similar accident with her Corolla. Make sure your insurance company is working for you.

^ I worked for a large insurance company and our job is to pay as little as possible. They're not your friend, remember, they're a business. Your insurance company will work harder for you, if they know the other party is at fault. However, they may still not know the market value for your Tacoma. What will it take you to buy your exact same model in your area. Start looking for the highest market value from Toyota dealerships in your zip code. You can also screen shot other reputable dealers as well. If you have receipts for your aftermarket parts, you can submit those too. Since the other party is at fault, you can add those parts to your claim.

    Good Luck!

Trucks are replaceable, lives are not…

    Glad you’re okay!

Kudos to Toyota for building our trucks so sturdy! In October 2015, I got hit by a drunk old man who ran a stop sign in his 2002 Mercedes E320 while I was making a left turn at a 3-way intersection; His car was totaled (drivable, but due to its age and the fact the frame was bent, totaled) while I drove my truck home with roughly $2,200 in damage! No injuries!

Beat me too it. I came here to make sure no serious injuries and, if so ask as I was thinking the same thing after reading that other post about CMCs....:anonymous:

Seriously, I hope everyone is ok. It sucks, but i am glad you are looking on the bright side to upgrade to a new model.

CMC= Cab Mount Chop. It is usually done to fit bigger tires. There was a thread recently discussing safety when they have been chopped.

Probably not, only needed with 285 and up in general. But that first picture of the front tire being pushed back was the first thing i thought of after reading the CMC thread earlier today since the big argument/speculation in that thread was the CMC cuts the frame piece that prevents the tire from being pushed into the cabin on front end impacts like the OPs. It is an open question at the moment and i was curious. (seriously not trying to be callous to OP's misfortune).

Lots of incorrect statements here. OP please do not blindly follow this "advice" (and the stuff in the followup posts). FL insurance law is VERY different from CA insurance law, especially in light of recent changes to your insurance code.

You'll get a lot further listening to what your adjuster has to say first about the fault analysis and vehicle valuation, THEN start weighing your options AFTER you see some hard numbers.

Oh, and although your Taco died, it's far more preferable that you are alive and in one piece.

Glad you're alright dude! Just adding a bit to the brightside, If you can ask the towing company which junkyard it went to, you probably got 2-3 of your tires and all of your rims!
