Not sure if I missed it but what did you use for rear bumpstops? Also did you need/use a limit strap for the rear as well? @Ripcord

@Ripcord , in regards to your countersunk fender flare bolts, what length did you go with? And to clarify: the foam puck goes between the fender and the flare, correct? Any washer on the backside of the fender?

Btw, the green on bronze look is fantastic. Your truck is gnarly.

What lens do you use most often when you're taking your truck pics? I've noticed that my 35mm 1.8 takes the best shots when it comes to overall quality, but can be difficult to use on tight trails when you want a wider angle view.

    I have a Canon 6D with a 24-105 lens, occasionally shoot with a 50mm 1.8

Just saw (via Instagram) that you got one of the Rocky Mountain Racks. I was curious about your thoughts so far? How's the quality? The powder coating? The install?

They only have installation instructions for 4Runner on their site so I was wondering how it mounted? Is it mounted on top of the drip rail moulding?

I love the way your truck looks BTW!

Saw your truck at Breckenridge last weekend and almost had a heart attack. Ended up stumbling across your Instagram. Best 2nd gen build I’ve seen. You’re killing it man!

Great build thread!!! And awesome truck/build!! I have a couple questions as far as 35s go as I’m going 35s here in the next few weeks. Trimming, so you trimmed the fender 3.5” and the flare 3”? What about the wheel well liners? And other than the CMC any other trimming I should be worried about? I don’t have a steel bumper (yet) so I am aware I’ll have to trim the bumper too.

    Thanks for the compliments!

On the rack, I just let them use my truck for marketing photos, the rack is not staying. I enjoy the nekked roof too much to have any rack, but if I did want one I would definitely get the RMR rack.

IMO the mounts are far superior to competitors, the load path is much more direct. Under the trim for the roof molding, there are pre-threaded holes that are used. You just trim the molding under where the mount feet will be and leave the rest of it.

Thanks man! I am up there all the time.

    Thank you!

When you trim the fenders, you can't use the OEM wheel well liners any more. I am sure you could use some rubber/plastic and make your own though, but I didn't bother.

Thanks! I really appreciate the response.

I love the look of the rack, and it's a toss up between the RMR and Prinsu. I like that RMR is in Colorado because I prefer to shop local. I was curious about the drip rail moulding because I'm pretty sure I lost the drivers side in a car wash and I can't bring myself to spend $70 on a replacement.

Yeah they are up in FoCo, they can help you with the install and any other accessory mounting to the rack that you have to do.

TBH, looking at the brackets they use, the Prinsu should be stronger and withstand more weight. Those S-Shaped brackets RMR uses don't distribute the load directly vertical downwards towards the roof which puts some lateral stress on the brackets. Also their brackets mount to the lower side of a crossbar instead of the stronger side rails.

Prinsu's rack uses aluminum spacers which place the load vertically onto the top of the truck and the load is on the side rails, not on the crossbars.

Unless I'm looking at something wrong, I believe the Prinsu would hold up to weight better.
