One time I asked future service manager Miss Piggy how much to replace my clutch slave cylinder.
She had a huge granny calculator right there, banged in 9 hours x 140 per labor hour = "too rich for you boy, gtfo"

You can get a set of breakpads from autozone for 30 bucks or so.

yep- sorry man, you got HAD. Try an independent dealer next time. The UCA could have been a 4 hour job ( first time, ) brake pads are a cool 45 mins. but the alignment would have been a kick in the pants at a whooping $80.00

Sway bar link??? geeze, i'll sell you mine for CHEAP since I don't use my sway bar or any of its components....

    just PM me instead ;)

You would think with all the rape they could’ve threw in the sway bar links for free. If sure with the links it would’ve cranked it up to 2500.

You gotta line item that shit out. I'll tell customers that im gonna bump up the labor sometimes if they supply their own parts but seriously.. im explaining how much the price is going up and why

    Just pads, no rotors?

Most dealer alignments are at least 150

Does the price include tax, thats 200 right there

My friend tried to tell me his $500 brake job was a good deal. Not only that, but he trusts the guy and they went to high school. I didn't know my friend was a retard.

I think threads like this should require, by law, that a photo of the work order / estimate be included in post 1.

If they do go ahead and do the work, the next thing is going to be a phone call. "Uh, the alignment cams are rusted, so we can't align it. We're gonna need another $1500 to replace the lower control arms and cams."

Most places are pushing packaged services with any work, we charge 189.00 for pads and turning rotors per axle, they probably added on a 100-150 brake fluid exchange on top of it. As for the uca cost i give shops the benefit of doubt unless i see an actual estimate.
