Yeah, its just hard to do myself since I live in an apartment complex that doesn't allow you to work on your car. I would have to go to a public parking lot to do any work.

I feel you. I’m in the same spot, but my employer lets me use our shop.

Post up in your local section and see if anybody has a garage to work in. Supply pizza, beer, bbq, whatever, they will come

    Read the fucking book.
Believe it or not, most machinery made in the past 150 years has a book somewhere that tells all about the inner workings of it.

Do you mean a service manual or something like that?

Didn’t you ever play with legos? A service manual works just like a lego instruction book, start with step 1 and keep going.

Damn dude sorry you got taken advantage of. Since you dont have a space to work on your truck I get that you probably dont wanna impose on anyone but look for a local meet up and make some friends, bring some beers, and learn as much as you can. I installed my UCAs using threads here and the instruction manual, pretty straight forward and you'll be done with it in no time

X1000 for a total rip off!!! There’s a lot of guys on here that would help you out for little to no cost. The only caveat would be if you live in a rust prone area and your truck was totally rusted out. Even if that was the case I’d be way more worried if it was the lca’s vs uca’s. Post where your at and see if anyone chimes in?

That’s harsh. They’re a vendor here and get a lot of business.

@gunny1005 what say you? You’re the face of Camelback here. OP got what he paid for, but seems like a bit of questionable practices.

Fair enough. I’d like to point out that some things are easy to mess up despite having instructions such as installing seals. Tough for a beginner.

If we had time to meet up between us I'd do it along side the road at the same time using you as the one holding and using the tools. My knowledge your muscle and the it becomes your knowledge.

I'm surprised they get so much business... I've had two pretty horrible experiences there in particular.

I once replaced brakes, wheel bearings, wheels, and tires on a tandem axle boat trailer with a 27' boat on it, in a Walmart parking lot in southern California. The security guys just drove by occaisionally, and looked, and didn't say a word. We made sure we didn't leave a mess in the parking lot.
