I live in Huntington Beach, CA and it was not easy finding a shop that offers road force balance. There is only 1 shop around ( A+ Tuning, HB, CA ) I have had my wheels balanced about 4 times now at different shops and the balance if perfect on the machine and the vibration goes way for the first few days to month then its back to normal. Vibrates between 40-50 and again between 60-70. I had my drive shaft balanced, new carrier bearing + drop kit and new u-joints front and back and replaced hubs, wheel bearings, ball joints and tie rods with no luck. I'm dropping my truck off tomorrow so I will post the results.

Now that you have a lift kit installed the truck vibrates . Did you cancel your drive line angles ?
Have you looked at the condition of your tires ? Toyota says to rotate every 5000 miles .Tacoma tires must be road forced balanced using the Haweka adapter on the tire machine [IMG]tsu00296.pdf
When was the last time you rotated your tires ? Are you using LUG centric aftermarket wheels ? have you considered " HUB centric rings " http://www.amazon.ca/s/?ie=UTF8&key...vptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_7ybe1f1pby_e
Have the balance weights fallen off the tires ?
A good vibration technician can tell immediately if your vibration is caused by the rotating speed of your wheels or by the rotating speed of your driveshaft .

I had the driveshaft pulled out, all new U-joints, + new carrier bearing and with the CB drop kit they guys said my drive line angle is on point. I even stuck my go-pro underneath and watched the video and its perfect.

My tires are in good shape, about 40% wear. I rotate them even more than 5,000 but normal wheel balancing machines arent working. I am using MT aftermarket aluminum rims and they came with tires mounted and weighted. Didnt have issues until the first time I had a shop balance them. from that point on its been a never ending battle. we will see what the shop says tomorrow.

Road Force Balance worked like a dream!!! They were able to measure the tire wight all around and found I had 2 tires that are lop sided from driving on them with the vibration for so long. Unfortunately I need to replace 2 of my tires which are only 50% worn, but they were able to put the 2 tires that were good up front and got those balanced 100%. Just took it for a spin and Im smooth as butter at all speeds again. 5 balances , hours of research and $120 later and my vibration is gone!!

I’m gonna have to try this.
Mine have about 1000kms on the truck with brand new KO2’s on a new truck and I’ve balanced 4 times, have a diff drop, checked drive line angles, etc. No difference.
Tire shop says road force balancing is a waste of time that I’m feeling the aggressiveness of my tires but I don’t buy it. Why wouldn’t I feel it all the time then? It comes and goes.

I only feel it at ~40kph then again at 80-100kph.
No steering wheel shake. More throughout the cab.

This. Not all road force balancers tell you to unseat and twist the tire around the wheel and re-seat it.

All that "road force balancing" guarantees is the roller part that simulates how the tire acts on the road. Often times even on very old standard balancers, if a truck tire is very far off, the tech will simply break the bead, rotate it a good chunk, and re-seat it to get it close enough to balance with a reasonable amount of weights.

I think that basically all that road force balancing really does is take into account the variance in the "spring rate" of the tire along the circumference of the sidewall, and uses weights to compensate for it. Your tire could be perfectly balanced but not act like it because one spot on the sidewall is stiffer or softer than the rest of it.

Yup that's balance one way or another, it shakes based on the frequency of the wheel. I had that happen with my old mazda. Didn't shake below 60, which was fine since I got it done then drove to and from work for a month or so on 35-40 mph roads. At 65 it shook. 75 no shake. I'm a slow driver so setting the cruise to 75 was a foreign concept for me, I couldn't go 65!
