This thread makes me think maybe some pepper spray would be nice to carry. It's not considered a weapon.

I'd laugh like a school girl if a big badass came at me and I sprayed him.

Pepper spay sound good until you spray billy baddass and the situation escalates to a bigger issue. I would put my firearm on my lap ( where it usually is when im driving in a bad area), In view of the guy coming over. I would then, very calmly ask the gentleman what would he like to say to me. In VA, you can carry openly on your seat without a concealed carry permit. If he notices it and walks away, all the better for you. The fact that he honked the horn to avoid an accident is legal here as well. Just remember in a situation like that you need to think like a cop. Not do what a cop would do, but think about if an officer came on scene and what the repercussions could be with your actions.

What would have been funny is you getting out of your truck while he's going after your brother, going to his truck, taking his keys, setting his car alarm and throw his keys into traffic in the oncoming lane. I know that wouldn't actually happen and I'd never do it but that's the only idea I had..

    This is not correct.

The ammo and magazine are not addressed by the penal code.
The weapon must be in a secure locking container.
That secure locking container MAY be within the driver's reach, and the magazine and ammo may be carried in the same container.
The magazines may even be loaded.

The next time a gun shop employee tries to feed you that line of BS, ask them to provide you with the penal code sections that require it.

I know the old PC sections, but I haven't memorized the new ones.

    PC12025 and 12026(a) and (b) cover it.

Until the law changes in Cali to where you can carry, i'd say keep your windows up and drive away if you can. Failing that, if they approach your door aggressively, just smack 'em really hard with it. Subdue them and then tell the cops you were in fear for your life and that you want to talk to legal council.

Actually the best defense is to stay in the truck, it's your getaway and it's a serious weapon if need be. And if you get arrested DON'T SAY A FUCKING WORD TO THE COPS WITH OUT A LAWYER NEXT TO YOU!

This is amazing! Far from legal, but I'd do the same any day. Had my fair share of similar instances. A PA and flashing lights really go a long way! And what anyone says about that, I'll do it anyways

See this shit all the time here in central Florida, little pieces of shit can do and say what they want, touch my truck and I'll get out and beat you to death. Been in construction all my adult life, training in martial arts, plenty of full contact comps. Go ahead punk, do you really know what your about to do to yourself. I'm not real big, 6' 1" 200 lbs, but.... go ahead punk.

I deal with dumba--es all day driving a big truck in a city making 10 to 20 stops a day. My day is not complete till I get flipped off.And believe me it happens all day long. With that said when they get aggressive with me I wave and laugh. I'm the most hated man in town. In the way all day and drive like a little old man on my way home 22 miles 14 of them on a two lane.
But when not working (not wearing my work uniform). I do the same but just have a friend with me
    [IMG].
So if approached this is in my lap pointed at the door,I can fix the hole in it but maybe not the one in me. You never know what any one is capable of so no matter what be very weary of anyone approaching you, your family, or your property.
