I watched this unfold a few months back.
    8237CF2A-711D-41F9-8C9E-29DA7F5C1FB4-141_4578c30987e6b5b884822c869adc3bb629342286.jpg
The more aggressive of the two, the older guy, actually caused the accident by driving like a dumb dumb. Then he proceeded to get all pissed off at the younger dude.

It's funny this came up yesterday though. Because on my way to work I had a case of an asshole driver.
I was going to merge over to the right to get into the turning lane for the freeway on ramp.
Douche behind me to my right in a Prius decides, after I put my blinker on, that he doesn't want to let me over. There was enough room to squeeze in so I took my spot. That lane turns into two turning lanes and he ended up in the one I wasn't in.
After merging on to the freeway he decides to get in front of me and turn on his insanely powerful windshield washer sprayers. Since it was still dark I just turned on my lightforce 170's and shined them right through his back window.
After he emptied all his washer fluid he sped off. I just smiled because my windshield hasn't been that clean in a while!
Moral of the story, people are assholes for no reason sometimes.
There was no reason for him to get pissed off over a simple lane change which I signaled for.
He caught me at a bad time too. I'm in the process of quitting smoking.

I assume that when I get on the road, someone will piss me off. I try to think of how reacting to them could ruin my life. If they cut me off and I bump them in the rear and cause a fatal accident, how would I like spending the next 10 years in jail? Lot's of bad shit can happen in a heartbeat, and there's no going back. Life's too short to let dumb-ass's dictate my future.

road ragers dont even register on my radar anymore...utter and complete indifference.

ironically, i think this sometimes pisses them off more.

    i will not engage..EVER!

why did your brother feel the need to go around to get up behind you? (am i reading this right?)..while he did nothing wrong, that move pisses off people with retardedly happy mental trigger fingers.

All you people who say "call the cops" make me laugh. What are the cops going to do? You could get a pizza delivered too that location faster than the cops arive.
You say give the cops his plates? What good is that? I don't know about in the usa, but here in Canada the rcmp will just check too see if the vehicle is stolen and if it's not then they will say "there's nothing we can do. "

I got a honda ruckus with a whole 3hp that will go 45 tops. It doesn't accelerate fast. Period. There's always douchebags that will race up behind me like I'm going too slow, even though 85% of the time I'm going the speed limit or more, and act like I'm causing them delay. Or I will be at a light and they get mad because I don't take off like a bat out of hell.
It's funny how many people think they have badass cars once a moped pulls up beside them. Or loud exhaust, loud subs, stick shifts. I've seen it all.

He literally just made a lane change to the left, sped up from 45mph to 50mph (the speed limit), and he happened to be behind me. It's not like he was weaving through traffic trying to get behind me. He signaled, and just gradually accelerated in 4th gear.

Didn't read every reply here, so this might have been said. But aside from honking at someone who cut you off (which to me seems legit) why yell at the guy? Kinda seems like your brother provoked it. Sure the guy in the Titan was wrong to drive like an idiot, but does it really matter that much? And is it worth a physical confrontation?

People drive like idiots all the time, but that's no reason to let it get under your skin. I tell my steering wheel what an a-hole the guy is and let it go.

Lots of good advice here, but the best is to just let it go. Unless it directly threatens you or your family, there is little worth getting seriously hurt or dieing for. This guy might of answered that torque wrench with a gun, then what? Remember there are always people in this world with a lot less to loose then you, and do not care.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
I can not speak about the entire U.S. But I will say in my county the police take road rage very very seriously. You do anything that can seem violent towards another individual, the cops are right there in a heart beat with at least 3 other cars.
In my county, you have 8 county police stations. Then you have 4 state police stations including the headquarters. Then you have Arlington city police, Fairfax City, Veinna, Springfield, Tysons, and Falls Chuch, Alexandria, also Herdon all with their respective police departments. Then you also have metro police( who cover dc, md, va). Also you have numerous federal agencies as well. Plus the sheriffs department. All who are willing to arrest anyone who acts stupid. I live in a commonwealth, Where the arresting authority has the ultimate say if you go to jail or not. It is kinda like this, If I punch you in the face, and you Punch me in the face, The police come to the scene, and neither one of us want to press charges on each other, the police can, and will, press charges on behalf of the jurisdiction "the people". So, you are pretty safe here. No worries :D

I love the area I live in. Plus everyone and their grandmom has firearms to defend themselves with. Everyone knows this. Keeps people civil IMO.
