I've had Michelin LTX tires on several vehicles over the years and they have been great tires. Long wear, smooth ride, and very quiet. In my opinion, the best you can buy, not cheap, but good value for the money.

I put on Michelin Defenders after 45K on stock Firestones. The truck is quiet and comfortable now, with better mpg.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

The stock Firestone Destination LE2/LE3 are quiet and seem to last well - and they cost $75 less per tire than the well regarded Michelin.

Michelin Defenders are going on my truck when the factory Toyo tires wear out.

Note that Costco gives a 5 year road hazard warranty free where some others you pay additional and a 2-3 year time limit.

Had Defenders (LTX was past name) on Suburban and smooth long lasting - a cruiser highway tire.
A/T2 on Tacoma and smooth too also but they threw alot of gravel on long dirt roads. Drove RT FL to AK on these so put them through a real road test - they passed.

Note to me after 50k miles they seemed to get slippery on wet and dry pavement so replaced. Tread still looked great but control was off - could be just me and taking off but new always solved.

My newest are Falken AT3 with triple peak rating just as smooth but at 45k they are almost done tread wise (55k warranty). Great in wet or dry on pavement and offroad (which you don't care, but).

Read all the reviews on tirerack and other sites to see millions of miles of performance and price then pick. Lots to pick from and lots of opinions but those sites avg it all out.

Michelin Defenders LTX. Great road tires and strong enough to stand up to gravel roads for as long as you want to drive there.

I've had my Tacoma (2015, purchased in 2020) for a little over 3 years now; not sure if the previous owner or the dealer put them on, but it had a new set of Kelly Edge HTs on it. Pros - they've been quiet, handle well in dry conditions, and are holding up well (closing in on 30K on them, and still have a decent usable tread life to them). Cons - handle wet turns well enough, but prone to slipping in some wet acceleration and deceleration. It's a controllable, avoidable issue, but it does exist. I won't be putting more of these on when it's time to replace, but it hasn't been bad enough to make me want to get out of them early.

I have bfg trail terrains . Great for on the road and light trails . I know u said u want a road tire . The bfg have great road manners quiet on the highway and city . They look great .Good in the rain . Better to have a tire that is capable of doing more than street driving. But if you are set on minivan tires the Michelin are a good choice .

Another positive vote for the Michelin LTX. Very happy with mine after 50k and plenty of tread left.

Apparently you are unaware of the fact MANY Tacoma owners will never see unpaved surfaces under their tires beyond rolling across the lawn with a load of mulch. For those of us who bought the Tacoma for non-trail work, it would be silly to buy trail tires.

I got 41,000 out of the original Toyota A30 tires, replaced them with a set of take off Destinations with 200 miles.

Just went out and measured, they are a 8/32 with 16,000 miles. 99% of my driving is pavement and I drive like the old guy I am.

Factory tires can also be a softer compound than an identical appearing replacement tire. Manufacturers have done this for decades - they don't want to lose a sale over a perceived harsh ride.

Tires are truly a case of "your mileage may vary".
