    IMG_5275.jpg hey all!

recently had a bit of bad luck with an old subaru on facebook, but it feels like luck has come around! got gifted a 98 tacoma SR5 with 510k miles on it a few weeks ago. family member i reconnected with had no use for it. been sitting for a couple months. almost every single mile on that truck is highway, including 200k in the first two years. was a work vehicle its whole life.

jumped it and cranked good, but stall. cleaned my MAF real good but haven’t tried starting since i’m working on these plugs ... these damn seized plugs.

hoping to get her up n running in no time, and proud to be in the tacoma-world :D i’ll keep posted but wish me luck!

edit: ps: it’s a column shifter auto

Let it get hot a couple times. It'll help burn all the junk off around the spark plugs. That and pb blaster.

Wow 510K miles. Love to see what the underside, engine bay, and interior look like.

Post some pics when time affords.

check out that rust :) there really isn’t any. so glad i’m not in the rust belt

went back today to work on it and i couldn’t get it to start or replicate that issue from the other day with the MAF sensor. before it would start, run for a few seconds and die off. today it would not run, only start and die off in the middle of it starting.

battery isn’t holding charge well, so it could just be that. cranks, starts, sputters then stalls. it definitely had fuel to the engine last time. maybe disconnecting the battery + maf reset the ecu, and now it isn’t allowing the pump to kick on? let me know what you guys think!

    thx in advance, lydia.
