I've put 100k on mine since buying it used and 90 miles is as far as I've gone from home. We travel plenty, but it's either my wife's explorer or an airplane.

Well.....It took me from being bored and having no desire to do anything with my vehicle to being excited about driving and wanting to get back in the garage and spin wrenches..... Does that count?

Other than that, the longest trip for the current Tacoma was 880 miles in a 4 day period where we were still never more than 150 miles from home at any time. Just a road trip to a few spots me and the wife really like. The big trip is coming in mid September. We'll be headed to the Smokey Mountains. I've been there dozens of times but my wife has never been. Specifically headed to the North Carolina side of the hill! Gonna do some camping and what not!

From Trenton NC to Bryson City NC. From there we went to Pigeon Forge TN, back to Bryson City and all around Asheville, back to Bryson City then back to Trenton. Drove almost 2000 that week. Not too bad and handled it no problem. Just had to change the oil when I got home.

That's quite the trip. I'd love to do that later on in life when I start getting older. I'd love to do it now but need to get everything paid off to save up enough money to go on a 6 week trip.

I'd suggest not waiting till you're older if possible.

I agree. I'd rather not wait if I can.

Mine has been from Georgia to Colorado twice. The 1st was for a hunting trip to the NW part of the state. My BIL and I drove 28 hours straight on the way out taking turns driving and sleeping. On the way back we left about 3 PM after a morning hunt and drove till about midnight Colorado time. That got us over the Rockies in a snow storm where we got a room just east of Denver. Left at 6 AM and drove 24 more hours arriving at home about 8 AM Georgia time. About 5300 miles total.

I took my wife on a summer camping trip a year later. A much more relaxed trip and actually more miles. We drove around a lot seeing different sights staying in a different campground or motel almost every night.

Day 1: Started from Vancouver BC, took I-5 all the way down to Roseburg, OR.

Day 2: From Roseburg, we went down a bit more and turned towards the Pacific at Grants Pass to do the Pacific Coast highway. Got into a motel in Fort Bragg CA.

Day 3: Went down the PCH, had dimsum at San Francisco Chinatown, then slept in Monterrey CA.

Day 4: Continued on the PCH all the way down to Los Angeles CA, and checked into a hotel near LAX.

Day 5: Wanted to check out the notorious Compton California. We drove through the local residential streets. Loved the scene. Not the kind of scenes I see in Canada. If the movie 'Straight outta Compton' was out then, our hood tour would've been more enriching experience. Had a moment of silence for 2pac. Wanted to explore more on foot, but I have family back in Canada. I would love to go back and explore some more, with bullet proof glasses of course. Anyways, driving through Compton/Watts with British Columbia plates on is not something a lot of people do. What a scene itself! It was more like a pilgrimage if you will.
Then we went took Wilsher through Korea Town, then to Sunset Blvd to Venice Beach. Now that is beach. Definitely not something you would find anywhere in Canada.
Although it was my third visit to LA, Los Angeles was a cultural shock. So diverse and lively.
After a day in LA, we moved on to Palm Spring where my old buddy lives. LA traffic jam was horrendous.

Day 6: Had In n out burger for breakfast, chilled with my buddy for couple hours then moved on to Vegas via Barstow CA. We took it slow, and arrived in Vegas late night. Got a hotel deal at $49 bucks.

Day 7: Las Vegas -> Salt Lake City UT. SLC was beautiful. LDS people there really formed a unique culture. The temple was beautiful. Picked up couple souveniers and proceeded on to Idaho. We were gonna spend the night in Boise, but we felt like driving some more so we made it to Ontario Oregon.

Day 8: Ontario Orego -> Vancouver BC. AFter we arrived home, it was like we just had a dream because everything was same in Vancouver after so many beautiful places we witnessed for the last 9 days.

Hello Doording, thanks for your suggestions.

My expedition detroit will commence when the US Army sponsors me with one of their Humvees.:D
For sure, I'd love to check out Yosemite and other nature settings California has to offer.
With the current lowly Canadian dollar, I am forced to stay local and explore Vancouver Island for now.

Death Valley is definitely on my list. Went there 2 years ago and wanna go back. Not so much for "wheeling" since I'm in a POS 2wd ;) but for photography
