I may have the terminology wrong about a leaf spring flip, but I've seen pictures of a few lifted Tacoma trucks that have done it.

    Pretty much this;Underslung-Overslung-diagram-01.jpg

They are designed for towing or added weight in the bed and I've had them on my last three trucks, one S-10 and two Dakota's. Each of these trucks were 4x4 with a fiberglass Leer cap and the RAS worked very well.

Can't say the same for my 07 Prerunner. The weak link here was the leaf springs, especially the pre-recall leafs. Even with the new recall springs in and fully loaded with camping gear and my dirtbike I was still getting a lot of sag.

That was until I was able to pick up a good set of used the blue Sumo Springs for a decent price. Definitely no more sag when loaded up and IMO, the truck rides just fine with only the cap.

I still think the RAS is a good option that improves overall handling - empty or loaded.

yes. SUA. seems uncommon. Stock axle housing is designed for SOA.
SUA housing comes on gardener spec.

desert jumping pre runners switch to SUA simply for fast sand whoop and jumping up travel. Otherwise probably sacrifices rock clearance.

hopefully RAS doesn’t worsen ride or off road flex as it seems to add more spring.
Maybe depending on the truck and leafs it might not be needed such as Icon RXT op3 which is high and weight resistant, or similar from Archive and Deaver.
