haha thanks. i saw some vendors making their versions and thought it would be good for my shorter son but he's cool using the kickout so those went to the front for my passengers. they don't budge.

Truck looks great, those wheels look pretty similar to the quicksand? Are they a pretty close match?

    thanks.

no it's not really close. they're both neutral base tones but the wheels are gray. it's not a bad mix and less common than black.

    picked up 2 things recently.

TRD Pro skid plate and some 2017 TRD Pro wheels with 265/75R16 KBros. For whatever reason even though these wheels are heavier than the beadlocks with Goodyear Duratracs C rated in the same size, my taco feels quicker.

detailed the taco today with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 on paint, windows, and wheels; 303 protectant on the flares and Gatortrax tonneau and bumpers.it's nice easy on and off and very slick. I had to do it in direct sun but it didn't give me problems.

I'll work on the e30 next week.

your build looks great, especially with the recent tire/wheel change. How is the paint holding up on chrome bumper caps. I have chrome ones too and want to color match to super white. Any issues or suggestions? Thanks in advance

Thank you for the compliment. I am digging the Pro wheels more too.

Paint is holding good. The only thing I should have done is hang up the caps so I could spray the leading edges better. I missed it from spraying flat.

Another option is vinyl wrap. It should be easy to find a match for white or you can go matte black and match the bumper. I think either way would look great.

Yeah I think I will try to paint them. What products did you use?

Also the Wolfgang gloss looks good! Did you use hand or machine application?

I got the products from here http://www.automotivetouchup.com/spray-paint/spraymax-2k-clearcoat.aspx

that clearcoat is 2k so it's more durable. I had their adhesion promoter and other cans from my previous touch ups. I save so many things over the years.

Wolfgang i did by hand. I could have busted out with my Flex DA but wanted to see how difficult it was by hand. It's pretty easy. Curing it overnight really makes a difference. I'm sold on it. I've used Menzerna to do paint correction and read that's who makes the WG stuff.

Yes that's my goal too but trying to keep it on a budget as that's gonna be probably the priciest mod as I want to avoid spacers.

That's my issue right now as well. I'm on the fence between OEM Audio, SCS Wheels plus new KO2's or some kind of lift. Definitely stay away from spacers. The ride quality sucks with those.

I used to be into car audio but glad i stopped. i spent a lot of time tearing out interiors and installing damping and wiring.

just owning cars is adding up. i think i'm on my 3rd truck payment only. lol

Yeah I used to be into big $$$ systems as well. I grew out of that, but I do miss a little bit of feeling from the bass and I love the clean look of the OEM Audio system.

Did you use the adhesion promoter as a primer substitute or use adhesion promoter then primer?

adhesion promoter, primer, base, then clear. i forgot to scuff the 'chrome' though but it's still holding up fine.

I'm really enjoying this build so far. What size KO2's did you get with the pro wheels?

EDIT: My bad, I see the size in an earlier post. I thought the pro wheels were only available in 17" though.

    Thanks for the compliment.

There are different versions of pro wheels. Mine are from a 2017 taco. You're thinking about the ones that come from the 4runner Pro. The beadlock I had on are also from a pro but it's a 2015 model in black. The gray were actually from the Baja edition. Of course tundra gave a pro variant too but it's 5 lug and an 18.
