Robinhood(and others) block GME, BB, NOK, and AMC

Been trying to get off RH, Fidelity won't link to my bank. I can't buy GME because I own a fractional share and they don't allow that anymore.

 

That's because owning a fractional shares means you own nothing. These companies are trying to plug the holes in their sinking ships because it is looking like they might not be able to get out of the shit storm that's coming.

 

So is this going to bone long term dividend investors in other stocks or is this just a GME thing for now?

I like what WSB is doing and the message they are sending, but I will be very pissed if they cause some dumbass legislation around fractional share ownership which bones dividend reinvestors.

 

I think Fidelity is getting inundated with new customers. Keep trying.

 

I personally think Disabling fraction shares is just a way that they can limit you from getting in on GME. If you only have $200 then you have to sit out.

 

Oh I'm sure something will come out of this.

Fractional ownership may not be on the table, but I guarantee something silly is gonna get written onto the books. Not limiting overshorting a company though. That def won't happen, I don't have that much faith.

I work in finance/accounting, but not wall street. I'm banging my head on the desk these days seeing what Melvin/Citadel/RH is doing, going "This is why people hate us".

Really though, Even if theres no new legislation, I'd love to see most everyone at the SEC get shitcanned and a new group get put in. They've been asleep at the wheel for 2008 and again in the events leading to GME now. Clearly mission ineffective. Their chummy relationship with their regulatees doesn't help at all either.

 

Fidelity can eat me.
I have been trading with E*TRADE but for some reason they would not let me purchase a penny stock I was interested in. I called them, as per the pop up when I tried to do the trade, and they made some excuses that it had to do with their ability to physically get the shares.
So I opened a Fidelity account and put $ in it via electronic transfer. The $ came out of my account on 1/11. It wasn’t released for trading until 1/19. The bastards sat on my $. Meanwhile the stock moved .30. At the 10,000 shares I wanted to purchase....well do the math. F them

 

There are so many quotes from politicians that I want to post, but I'm smarter than that... Let's just say there is no problem that the government can't create.

 

Yea this has been hilarious to me! My family owns a stock brokerage firm and they have complaining about this for a long time. It's funny the "information" campaigns that have been launched, like I learned today that the GME run is a ponzi scheme They are throwing evreything at this and just making themselves look worse and worse. Heaving forbid normal people makes some $$...

Saying this I hope my silver ETF that I bought this morning makes me some $$$ on the back of this. I really need like a 20% market correction here, I want to buy some stuff on a "discount"!

 

The funny part is the blatant manipulation that just reeks of desperation and easily disprovable with cursory glances at the underlying data.

Well the good part of this is if people can disconnect thier emotions you can make money on both sides of this when it happens again or maybe even now. I have heard this silver news is the hedge funds trying to make their $$ back, if you play both sides of this right you can cash in it seems.

Only thing I'm keeping on RH is my Doge Coin, since Webull (and most) don't support Doge. Paper shares isn't a bad idea at all.

 

That's why the markets overall dropped Friday. It was them clearing off other positions to shore up their losses and get ready to eat the margin call.

 

No warning or anything.

 

Just bought more GME hoping for a squeeze similar to VW a few years back.
