I honestly couldnt picture this truck with 800+. I think boosted numbers targeting 650 would be enough to make me change my pants every other rip. We’ll see which opportunity comes to pass first. Seems like the ls or the Lq will be plenty for me to do dumb stuff in the dirt

Personally I’d install the cage but leave some stubs through the firewall to connect the engine cage it would make sense to build once you engine swap it. Also with a V8 it will be pretty apparent the leaves will limit your performance at that point so build your cage connections to your bed cage in mind of making mounts for coilovers but worst comes to worst you just cut them off at the cab and re sleeve the tube ends.

Or you could do all of the above at once. I recommend against it from experience. Longer a truck is down, the harder it is to get it running again ahem…

We have a very similar mindset, I want to drive my shit. I’m in no rush to shove the V8 in. Im going to finish the cage, run it as is for the next year+ while I slow build the V8 and gather/build parts for the rear (and quite possibly some dirty hooker travel for the front):anonymous: Realistically the V8 wont go into the truck for 2 years. Unless I magically find a large influx of racecar funds
