Right. Know of any places to offroad down there? I talked to a ranger at Finger Lakes National Forest who said my truck was welcome to go anywhere it could fit and wouldn't get stuck. I couldn't find anywhere it would fit. Every place that looked promising had large multi-ton boulders blocking the entrance. Always hoped that some of the state forests and/or wildlife mgt areas would have something...

That's funny he said that cause every state land trail I see down there has a sign saying no unauthorized vehicles. There is plenty of dirt and seasonal roads I like to play/go fast on but other than poaching there's not much.
I got some steep trails on my property but there not that long.
This is why I'm driving 3.5 hrs to AOAA in PA. Rausch Creek off road park is in the same area as AOAA.

It'll happen. Probably something more than 5 days heads up would've worked better for everyone...

I've got a Softopper for a 2nd gen Taco for sale. It's in great shape. I bought a new one when I got my 2016. Gently used, mostly for camping. Included are unopened seam sealer, Velcro, and install snaps. Thought I'd offer it up to this group first because I'm not interested in shipping it.

    Welcome!

So an update for you guys related to the leaky diffs, I'm not on the official recall but I had some minor weeping. Last Tuesday had it at Dorschel for 15k service and mentioned it to them. They agreed that it was leaking, ordered parts and I'm scheduled to have it done on the 11th.

@WNYTACO Im going to confirm with them when I drop it off that RTV is not a part of this repair lol.

Does anyone know of a good shop for doing a regear? I am looking into having 4.88's installed. Thank you for the help!

    Just an FYI...

Just returned from service at Hoselton regarding the leaking differential issue. On self-inspection, mine did not show any leakage. My VIN#, however, was on Toyota's Recall website. Attached is the service invoice.

    None so far
Live in the Victor area and have been following this thread. Traded my 2010 in for a 2017 4 Dr at Vanderstyne Toyota. Just completed the install of the Shift Sense Pro version 2. Had the truck in at 3000 miles for the howling in the rear end. They replaced the differential BUT the howling is still there. Vanderstyne said it was OK to continue driving it. Guess I will have to take their word for it. Not as enthusiastic as some for off reading, more interested in using the 4 wheel drive during the winter.

I started this thread and initially offered to arrange a meet-up. Unfortunately, I haven't followed through on this because I got hit with various demands put on my time this summer. I apologize to the group. However, here's a suggestion:

How about setting a specific time on a monthly basis? For example, meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month between 2 PM and 4 PM at Perinton Park. If you can make it, great. If not, we'll see you next time around. There's a large parking area next to the entrance to the canal area. It's to the left of the traffic circle you see in the attached map.

We could make it Saturdays then? My suggestion is open to modifications. :) Whatever we choose, we could make this April thru October (due to weather around here) if it works out.
