Can anyone recommend a local shop that could repair the howl I get from my rear diff? Plenty of threads about the issue. Feathering the throttle around 55mph causes a loud howl. I have to listen to it every day on my commute. It is driving my insane. Toyota has no interest in fixing it and call it "normal". I opened a case with corporate and met with a field tech and still got nowhere. He said Toyota is aware of the issue but doesn't have a fix. If it's not too expensive I'll do it myself. Just need to find a competent mechanic.

I've got this rattle too. There are a few threads posting a fix. Quick fix is to jam a toothpick or piece of cardboard between the A-arm and speaker cover. Better fix is to remove speaker and A-arm covers and add felt to contact points.

    I'm still rocking the toothpick.

This is another issue the kind folks at Vanderstyne "can't duplicate". Mine goes away when truck is warm, so maybe they had the heat on.

Because it has been a year now and I doubt they will ever do anything about it. Maybe I'm OCD, but it drives me nuts. I just want it fixed.

I love "the Brake Clinic" on Scottsville Road. I have 285 Cooper tires that were a bitch to balance... tried three places before I went to them. they did a great job and it was cheep. I am going to 34/10.5 in the fall and I will have them do the whole thing (including alignment). I now have three guys at work who have their tire/wheel work done there.

Usually irondequoit bay/creek, haven't really done that much lately b/c the water is so high. Also do mendon ponds, and canandaigua or conesus on occasion.

We like Black Creek. We launch from Churchville Park and head west. I just put the Kayaks on this past weekend to try out the new rails and mounts.

Mine is on the passenger side as well, seems to rattle all the time so hopefully I can have the dealer take care of it.

I also have a very faint rattle in my driver side rear door, I can hear it where my seatbelt goes in :notsure:

Not that I know of, would like to find one...There is the CNY Jeep club that don't have to be a jeep owner to join. They do trail rides and such.

My bad, I meant to fully respond but got side tracked. I was pulled over for what I thought was tint but speeding was the real factor, but just recently I applied for a NY exempt window tint sticker and was approved. Kinda shocked because NY never does anything right but this time they did. I had low grade skin cancer 4-5 years ago and I had my dermatologist write a letter and I applied. My derm said more then likely it wouldn't get approved because the state was only approving two conditions I didn't have but since I'm in my truck everyday all day the state approved.

Wow glad to see they are approving it for people with skin issues. I get bad headaches from the glare and the tint really helps, but headaches or migraines are not one of the conditions.
