For those with the hood deflector does it protect the windshield from objects hitting it on the highways . I have had to many rocks and items hit my windshield lately . Don’t know if it’s the design of the hood that’s causing the updraft to cause projectiles to hit the windshield . Looking for a solution to help prevent damage to the windshield .
    Thanks .

I recommend bullet proof glass, a 20 foot lift, or avoidance of driving behind dump trucks full of gravel.

Not when I had one on my ford truck. I went 20 years of driving without needing a new windshield on any car including a jeep cj minor chips never a severe crack. Last 10 years 1-2 a year with all the family cars. It's gotta be a combo of glass quality and lazy people driving dump trucks not covering there load properly.

Just give yourself some room so that you are not in the path of flung rocks...

Based on comments from other threads, those things are not helpful in protecting the windshield.

Those things protect nothing except you being mistaken by the general public for someone with good taste... Nothing screams stick-on Pep Boys' plastic like those horrid things.

Sorry to not contribute to your quest... it just needs to be said. :crapstorm:

    I'll show myself out.

Agree with this also. Although, I think it’s not so much the dump trucks as sooooo many vehicles with deep / off-road treads that rocks are attracted to until it’s time for them to let go. Don’t have any factual data, but I believe that the quality of the glass compared to years ago is crap now days. Gee, I sound like a grumpy old man. “Back in my day….. “ HaHa!
