    Hello all!

I was curious what you guys think about some recent work I had done on my 23 lunar rock OR.

I had a local shop fix a small rock chip I have on the leading edge of the roof of my truck. I had them also install ppf on the leading edge of the roof and on the A pillars. The ppf looks pretty good, but it looks like there is bare metal still where the chip was. Or am I just seeing things?

I know paint chips are a huge pain to make look decent so Im not trying to be rude or anything, but I feel like there is some bare metal under the ppf. Also, im sure that lunar rock paint is a pain to match because it looks different in different lighting. So can yall just give me an idea on what you think? Sorry in advance for the meh pictures.

That looks like the half ass job that I do to fix my paint chips because I don’t want the truck to rust.

It'll never match 100%, but that looks terrible. The truck is filthy too. :mudding:

Its not as bad as it looks. I took the picture pretty close up so the water spots look worse. Worst part is I cant wash it for 2 weeks to allow the ppf to cure!

This was pretty bad, down to the primer and was already starting to turn orange. The thing is, I did this in my driveway with the touchup bottle.

Lol! I thought maybe when they applied the ppf with the spray they use or whatever that it could have messed the paint up but idk

Thanks all for the responses. I’m gonna call the shop tomorrow and see if they’ll work with me or not

That’s terrible!! That’s not a fix. They used touch up paint and that’s it.

The shop ended up ordering the correct paint and fixing it. So all is well now. Thanks all!
