Added mudflaps still was getting lots of chips on my steps on country paved yes paved roads. When I installed my sliders they needed to be removed in the front. Took the back ones off too.

Personally I haven't noticed a ton of new chips. The most chips I have are on the hood of the truck..
However I am considering the rokblox? Not sure the spelling. But the flexible ones if I ever try again.

Same experience, chip amount was no different between flaps and no flaps for me on my various trucks, regular street roads, occasional dirt. If I lived on a gravel road, you bet your a**.

They are a must. I don't off road either but drive alot on the highway. The road debris hitting the underside is pretty terrible without the mudflaps. After I added them I haven't had any problems.

@TacoBuffet hey bud. Question. I contacted a pretty reputable shop about doing a 2in lift in the front. Told him I wanted a quote on the Bilstein 5100 like you said. Said I didn’t want to do anything lift wise that would hurt the truck etc. and that I do light off-roading.

he immediately recommended that I do a Spacer in front and Not the Bilstein. I said really? Isn’t that not the best option for the truck. He said it was fine and that the Bilstein option would make the ride super stiff. Not as smooth as it is now. Thoughts?

"fine" is alot different than the best option, I don't know what he's talking about because from my experience spacers are a stiff and jarring ride unless you go top plate spacer route which is what it sounds like he's recommending, sure that maintains the ride, but then your moving the strut down and putting stress on it as it now becomes the bumpstop so to speak and risk failure. You could do a coil in spacer which does sort of what the 5100's do as far as increasing the preload on the stock spring but at that point you might as well upgrade the shock (5100's) which were designed for that increased preload and better than the stock bilsteins.

Ya sounds like they want to do the easy and cheap method. I would. Good luck! If you're somewhat capable with a wrench its not a bad job DIY, did a few even with sketchy backyard spring compressing.

This is after installing Rekgen mudflaps. Better-yes. Mud gone-no.

YES, and I have the paint loss and nicks to prove it. I took mine off when I went to 285s. I have lost all the paint in certain parts of my sliders due to rocks/dust being thrown on them. I have some new ones coming to replace the thick stockers.

Simple. For $400 I put protective paint film on my rocker panels and I’m keeping a pair of sliders/steps on the truck. No flaps.

Again everyone's experience is different, I've ran flaps, no flaps, chips regardless or not at all. For people to just say you need them is a huge overstatement. Gonna depend on your tire/wheel setup, where you drive / live, etc.

Ya you'll be good with that setup, maybe some on the rear flare or higher up on the rear panel towards the light, but like I told ya, lived NJ/IL no flaps very few if any chips, AZ had flaps and still had chips on rocker panels, etc.
