So I am very much overly OCD. Just FYI

The dealer sold me a sport. I wanted the off road with the tech package, but settled on sport thinking it had the tech. It didnt. So a few days later they said they would swap it for the off road and tech and it was no change in price. So they gave me a loaner for a week.

I got there yesterday to get the truck, but it had 3-4 small rock chips on the passenger side doors. They are about the size of a pen tip. They put touch up paint on it and helped. But I can still see it.

But it's still driving me crazy. Truck only had 5miles on it and was shipped on a carrier. Has anyone else experienced the same problem before??
Just looking for some reassurance. I know it's a truck, but its brand new and hate it already had those chips on there.

Would this bother you guys? Should I push it or just let it go??

I'd let it go. I would never notice these in the first place and its only going to get more..

Ya. Its driving me crazy lol. The sport was spotless. Almost wish I would have kept that. But feel like I'm getting more truck out of the OR plus it has the tech package. Its obviously not worth repainting. Just hate its chips on the side especially being new. Ya know?

Yea, your going to get those chips as soon as you take it off the lot anyway. Why would you get an offroad if you're afraid to show a few scars?

All in all, just enjoy it.

No worries, mine sees pavement 99.9% of its life, but its inevitable. I've got a few myself just driving on the freeway.

Turned out well....enjoy. 2 months from now you'll forget it.

It's your OCD that is over processing.

You were able to swap and got the the tech package.

    Enjoy.....enjoy...enjoy

This as well, very uncommon to just be able to swap like that.

You bought a new truck that has rock chips, they either repaint the doors or they give you something too even the deal, free roof rack, seat covers, etc.

You guys are very right. I have had OCD since the age of 4. So I know it sounds crazy, but some of the smallest things can bother me just from obsessing. They were really good to me, so didnt want to be an ass. They gave me the option to go back to the sport, but I guess it's better to keep the OR especially based on the deal etc

Since it is so new I would probably have the dealer do something about it. At the very least they should have a professional touch up guy fix it for you so its almost gone.

Like others have said chips, dents, dings etc are going to happen. I am OCD just like you are. Sooner then later you will have something else to worry about on your truck and you will forget about those chips.

They offered to paint. But figured the paint wouldn't match the factory and didnt want to risk it since its MGM. They knocked 150 off

Would I be better off switching back to the sport, if they let me? Rather than repaint? Or just suck it up?

I'm OCD as heck too... Mine had a small chip when I bought my truck as well. I brought it up to the salesman before taking delivery. They said they would take care of it. I asked what they would do. He says probably repaint that section of the door... I said no thanks. I didn't want my new truck to get repainted. Took it home, and haven't thought about it till I read this thread. It's been almost 2 years.

I blame myself though thinking I should have kept the sport, which was spotless and since I was going to change parts anyways.

This one also has a dust spec caught in the paint right by the chip. My sport did too, but wasnt as noticable

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Go to the mall. Park between two vehicles in front of an eatery for 3-4 hours.

Your new chips will have dents to go with them and make the memory of your 'factory' chips disappear.

One great way to deal with this type of OCD is to buy used. A truck with 10-25k miles will have some 'break in' marks, and you have no worries over perfection. Which doesn't exist outside of Riddler cars.
