I gave my girl her first bath a few days ago. While detailing the exterior, I was noticing that I have exactly three rock chips in my paint already. One to the left of the fuel door, a small cluster of three on the underside of the front bumper, and one to the left of the front grill. I'm a little over 1300 miles. They're very small, but I'm still annoyed that they are there already. I was able to travel 13000 miles and 8 months in my 2015 with only 1 miniscule rock chip.

No, in fact I am doing my best to stay away from trucks on the highway. Trying to swap my hood with someone who has a sport so I don't want the hood with any damage at all.

well if the paint is anywhere near as thin as the previous gens I'm sure they're all gonna show wear and tear to the paint pretty quick.

My buddy notice my first one on the lower front right of the bumper. It's going to happen regardless of how much you protect it. That's what touch paint is good for.

Has anyone getten like the paint protection coatings done? Wonder if it helps things like this and keeps knicks and scratches to a buff out level rather than a repaint.

I did but it was on the soft lower bumper that's plastic. Nothing will protect that when it hits at like 100 kph

And no matter what it will turn colors over time, I looked into it for my truck along the rockers, but my detail guy advised against as well as body shop saying its a waste of money. Best is to wax it well, spot repair as you see it and avoid gravel roads, etc.

The dealer sold me the anti-chip spray treatment for $2500.00. They sold it to me at employee pricing. They said I was a valued customer and they would take care of me. It`s refreshing to see such honest sales people. lol. I should not give them ideas like that.

No rock chips yet, but I did buy a bottle of touch-up paint, at retail pricing.

No rock chips yet, but a buddy's dog jumped up on the door and put some light scratches on it.:frusty:
Looks like I'll be washing, waxing and buffing to try to get the scratches out

One at just over 500 miles. Drivers side door. Noticed it when I pulled the badges off. Used the touch up paint on it.
