That video is not apples to apples and not near as close or clear as your video.
The frame is designed to move independently from the cab, more so in newer vehicles. This is to give a smoother quieter ride.
Again, I'm not saying your sliders are not deflecting but if the sliders don't deflect the body will, making it hard to tell where the movement is coming from.
When you get a chance flex out your truck and check the gaps on the bumpers and sliders, you will see the side where the tire is compressing the gaps will be much tighter and the side that's drooping will be much larger than when on flat ground.

Sorry, thought the video of the quicksand Tacoma was yours, that's the video that is closer and clear.
Not trying to argue nor do I want to, just pointing out some facts to be concidered before assumptions are made on an extremly reputable shop.
I own a shop as well and know that not everything is as it apears in pictures and videos, I also own a 2016 Tacoma that I'm developing products for so I can speek from experience when I say the body movement on these trucks is excessive, most of my current work is on the 100 series landcruiser which is in one of the videos and I can also say that is a completly different animal from the Tacoma.

I love my DOM AllPro Apex sliders. Ran them on my Gen II also. The quality and workmanship is beyond reproach, and they're every bit as strong as any other ones out there.

OP here. I went with RCI. I chose them mostly because they could get my sliders to me in time and the reviews are good. I would have been satisfied with Mobtown, AllPro, or Demellow. I don't have money to burn... so price was a factor too. They showed up to my door Thursday (A week and a few days after I ordered them).

Yes. I don't like powder coat because once it scratches, it makes craters that you always see after you re-paint them. It's OK for bumpers, but not for sliders IMO.

I drilled. Super strong. So, I used a couple 2"x 4"s etc, to create a teeter totter upside-down drill press and used fresh bits. Went smooth.

I have Demello bolt on sliders I bought 3 years ago. I got lucky and they had a set just waiting to ship when I called so I gobbled them up. I did drill the extra holes and bolted them on. No problems so far.

As an extra note @Blackout14 CBI is by far the most popular armor choice around here because they have a relationship with a local Calgary shop that's existed for several years with good support. I've never heard of damage from a CBI slider and I've seen them take hits just as hard as the ones in your video. I wonder what is different that would cause the much movement, maybe the weight of the third gen? I don't have a dog in the fight, I have zero CBI on my truck at the moment, but I've never heard of a problem with their shit breaking and a lot of the richer Calgary folks that go to that shop wheel some insane terrain all over North America. If CBI was that useless I would of thought I would of heard something about that by now or seen it on another truck I wheel with.

I'm also going to drop this video here. It shows a few different sliders of the exact same design with HREW, DOM, and square tubing. I think the whole argument on the materials is well over played. Yes, DOM is a superior material to HREW, but if you are going to push HREW to the stress point you're likely going to damage the DOM as well. When building a Baja frame I'm sure it's critical to use DOM because of the structural implications throughout the frame from using the strongest tubing available, but I'm not sold on DOM being as necessary as this site likes to play it up to be. The Demello's I have are years old but they use square tubing for most of the structure and HREW for the tubing on the "outside" of the slider. I've used these sliders to turn my DCLB and still haven't done any noticeable damage to the HREW tubing.

I went with a local vendor as it was much more cost effective. If money was no object, I would go for mobtown. I like the design and looks overbuilt.

Seriously thank you for this video. I think it's very accurate in what actually happens with sliders.

So see the results from that it seems to me that the frame mounting is what caused the most change in position of the sliders. Looking at all the different mounting used by slider manufacturers I would still say mobtown is the best. The amount of frame connection is more than I have seen than any other and I believe that would result in the strongest setup. I have had Weldon sliders on my crawler, I added more plate than what was shown in the video, and I know that the mobtown sliders on my Tacoma will stand up to more abuse than any other I have seen.
