Hey there guys! So ive been on the look out for some rock sliders after my step up were damaged on a trail.

Ive been looking for HREW vs DOM and i was going to go for DOM but it is more expensive.
Recently i decided on HREW and this vendor is selling me HREW with fill in plates, powdercoated, with the kickback for $900. What do you guys think? Is this too expensive for hrew? I am not familiar with rock sliders

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

That depends on the vendor really. our sliders retail for nearly 1200 with that setup that's assuming they are bolt on.

Hey man I wouldn't sweat too hard over HREW vs DOM. I made a thread about this and posted 4xinnovations drop test video and you'll see normal drops they are pretty much equal it's the huge drops where DOM squeaks by a little better. HREW is plenty strong for 99% of people. Will it dent yeah it can, DOM can as well. I've seen DOM sliders dinked up just as bad as HREW ones, this is because the force was pinpointed into a very small area. Mine are HREW and on both my truck and the previous owners truck we outright abused the living shit out of them 2 dents. Both came from dropping well over a foot onto a point so to speak in the rock. They haven't bent or deformed in anyway to not allow opening of the doors or hitting the body. The biggest thing is getting your steps off before you damage the cab. My only complaint is the amount of touch up painting I have to do. Oh if you get fill plates I highly recc. painting the topside with a rubberized coating of sorts they get slick when they are wet. It'll make using them as steps much safer and sure footed.

@ovrlndskull thanks for the tip about using rubberized pain on the plates bro! Also thanks for the vid. I dont really rock crawl for that matter and only off road 1 or twice every other month so hrew might as well be my choice.

I wheel almost every weekend. So far this year have logged almost 500 miles offroad so if it holds up to that then you should be good. I'm not easy on my gear either it gets used and abused.

    $900?? jesus.

Even if you add in the cost of the welder I used to install them ($450), my DOM sliders from 4Xinnovations cost less than that.

Welding is cheaper than bolt on.
But yeah man! 900 for HREW is expensive as heck!
Ran the opposite direction for a different vendor :burnrubber:

Yes it is, which is why I brought it up.

Even still, I've seen boln-ons are far less than $900 before. $600 seems pretty average for a bolt on.

$900+ sliders better be some magical sliders.

Well if you factor in comparing closer to apples to apples with fill plates from 4x and then finding a PC plus your shipping I bet they would be more expensive than the other companies out there offering them in DOM. Plus some people just want bolt on and not weld on or have the skills enough or are good enough with a welder to do that labor themselves so then they have to pay a shop an hourly rate to do so.
Then I would say that 900 would of been a hell of a deal because shipping depending on the vendor can run anywhere from 120-300+ and powder coating the same thing 150-400 or so. Fill plates are usually a 300 add on.

    What hasn't been modified?
    What area are you in?

I build weld on sliders and only charge $500 installed.

Mike builds bolt on ones in the 600 range.

Granted that’s not powdercoat or fill plates but it’s not much more

    That's pretty good too.

You guys got to remember there are a lot of variables that are in the cost of doing business. To make these products and feed the families of the people who own and run these businesses.
