Glad the sliders arrived! I'll never understand why Fed Ex splits the delivery sometimes, but as long as you get everything.

The gussets will go on top of the legs at the frame.

In the first post I see their is a weld on version and a bolt on version what is the pros and cons of both or better yet which one should I just consider and just forget about the rest?

Weld on has superior strength and helps add strength to the frame. Requires a few hours of labor to install and can't be removed without a lot of work.

Bolt on is easy to install, still have plenty of strength for the mid range wheeler. They are not recommended for the hard core wheeler who is beating their truck every weekend. They cost more up front but require no welding and can be installed in a driveway.

The choice is up to you.

Awesome!!! It will be atleast another 10 years until I most likely not hit any gnarly stuff (as long I can keep the truck and alcohol apart from one another) so it sounds like I just need to nut up and get the bolt on and not cry drilling into the frame. :drunk:

Why are there 2 longer legs out of the total of 8 legs?? Just curious? I ended up triming them to the size of the other 6...Hope i dont regret it...lol

I need some assistance with the bolt-on version install... :

How exactly do they mount (anyone got underside pics?) Biggest confusion are the backs/plates with the rods welded to them (2 short, 2 long) - is to reach near the front of the frame while you bolt them?

Drilling is for the smaller black bolts on the bottom side, am I correct?

:/ wish there was a schematic for this :/

they ARE pretty sturdy, and a pain to move around.

    Thanks

The two longer legs are for certain trucks that need a longer leg. All 8 leg kits we recommend the rear leg be mounted far enough back that it actually attached after the frame starts to make it's taper up over the rear axle. The leg doesn't need to be much longer there but it is shipped long so you can trim it to fit how you want it to be mounted.

Yes the nut plates with the rods attached are to slide up into the inside of the frame rail at the front, where it is boxed. A tip, when you tighten those, let them rest against the frame so the action of tightening the bolt also tightens the rod against the frame. This will keep it from rattling.

You'll need to drill one hole on the side of the frame, at the back, and 4 of the bottom holes. There is a bolt that goes up through the frame and through the transmission cross member. You'll need to remove that bolt and drill out the nut, or rethread it to 3/8x16.

If you have any other questions feel free to give me a call.

Got home from work tonight and sliders and hardware were waiting for me. Awesome Adam thanks! Had the truck 3 weeks now and these were one of the first things I ordered. Great choice IMO, and great job on the building of the sliders.
