I just took like 4 or 5 cans of that krylon Satin Black with Primer and did my skids. Feel that they will get banged or scratched. Lot easier to touch up then get coated with liner or whatever.

Powder coat + sealant = fantastic durability in the winter. Wash once a week too!

Interesting theory........ Who is going to take that many bolts and wrestle around with sliders seasonally? I do have an 84 extended cab SR5 Pickup and my All Pro sliders are well prepped and painted but it stays in the garage in the winter....

I dunno, I just found some dirt falling out of my bolt-ons between them and the frame. They're tight, but it's not like it's a gasketed seal. So if you live in a salt area it seems like the salt could probably squeeze its way in there and get up to no good.

It is easier and I trust my welds but this is my DD and I have the 84 for trail duty. I welded the All Pros.....

Just got new sliders and had them powder coated. I go to Moab once or twice a year but live in Michigan. They probably won't see enough action to wear off the coating for a while.

Just throwing my .02 in the rattle can vs powdercoat debate. I had my TRD skid plate powdercoated to match my steel bumpers and sliders (All Cardinal BK59 Black). Cardinal makes a touch up spray in the exact color you need. That way all my mods are the same color black and can touch them all up with one can

I went with powder coat + rattle can paint touch ups. I figured it would be easier and more durable than just rattle can paint. So far so good after one year and a couple touch up sessions. I've touched up 20-30 gouges to bare metal. All of them are on the bottom or the side as you might expect. The rest of the power coat is like new except where I step on it to enter the truck. I think I should have put grip tape on that section. It's gets a bit slippery in the winter too.

    Work in progress...
You can touch up the power coat with some flat black+primer paint. Just spray it on some plastic wrap or bags and dab it on.
