Diamond back cover, cutting board insert for the tailgate, front runner bed rack, Cali raised makes all my lights including, led ditch lights, fog lights, front high mounted led grill light bar, and lower mounted light bar, adaptive solutions seat lift, menox hand controls, factory looking switch for all lights, MESO side mirrors sequential turn signals, Chris Kyle front and rear seats, Garmin InReach, Fox stage 2 suspension lift and preload, TRD Pro skid plates caliraised skid plates from front to rear, factory auto start (which is dumb), rear number matches paint of truck, front camera, and I think that’s everything.
Ok so I’m looking at a bunch of rock slider and they all have these metal sharpe pieces to add traction to people’s shoes when wet. But here is my problem. I have little kids and they use their knees to climb up the nerf bars/step bars into my Tacoma. Does anyone have any pointers for this to protect my little ones knees and also give them the step up they need.

Sliders by design are meant to be rough and tough for off roading purposes. Most often hand made by welders here in the states (hence not a perfectly rounded design).

Sounds like you might be better off with a more generic running board off Amazon.

You could get sliders without top plates. They'd just be a tube, so no sharp edges. Thing is, kids and dogs might slip their legs between the truck and the tube and get hurt that way. If the kiddos are small enough they need to knee up on the slider I would suggest having them wait to be picked up or helped up by an adult.

Sometimes when I build sliders for customers, every once in a while I’ll make the dimpled holes face down upon request. Gives a nice aesthetic to the slider, provides surface area to climb up onto, and won’t gouge little tiny peoples knees. Perhaps you could ask a special request from whatever company you order from if they’d be willing to do the dimpled holes facing downward?

    Just a thought

Only think I can think of for scuffed up kids knees is some weird fetish that someone has.

So this is what you would do? Can I get the step part rhino lined? I don’t want the kids sliding. Also I’m a paraplegic so my lifting is a huge dilemma.

    Look at build!
Bash Fabrication in Columbia typically does the dimple down technique that works great for dogs and kids. Barefoot is no problem so bare knee should be fine! Lots of filler plates options and even bolt on steps for helping those height challenged creatures

I’m all the way in Southern California

Yeah something similar for sure I think would work well for you. Of course, a textured finish like rhino lining or line x would certainly help prevent slippage!
