Exactly. You can also fix hundreds of dings for the cost of 1 slider. Just hilarious the gimmicks and what people need to convince themselves of.

Eh whatever convinces them and their significant other to get them ( or use them)

Very happy with my sliders. Saved the length of my vehicle several times in a very short period of time. Highly reccomend with anything past forrest roads, and even some forrest roads you better watch out. Also an okay spot to jack from if you find yourself in that shitty situation

This is what the conversation should be about. Not parking lots.

What's wrong with people wanting door ding protection ALONG with what a slider is made for?

You can just as easily get body/frame damage offroading your truck with sliders installed

    It's complicated.
Sliders aren't made for door ding protection; they're made for big-ass rock protection... within limits.

Any door ding protection provided by sliders is incidental, at best.

I ordered a set of RCI's, and will likely never need the big-ass rock protection they provide, but they're there, in case I get stoopid.

IMG_20190810_192441.jpg You'd be surprised how easy it is to get to a spot where you need sliders on a simply washed out off camber road. That was just dirt and over the entire length of the slider for 8 or 10 feet.

Can confirm @JLee bamf sliders are stout

The SOS Concepts sliders stick out a bit too, but they look good.

Better to have bolt on or welded? Cons to bolt on, or are they plenty strong?

I don't know enough to answer that, but I am going to add a few 1" welds to my bolt-on sliders; as a precaution against them growing legs and walking away.

Yep. Look through some of the threads.

And tailgates, and spare tires, etc.

Plus, we have well coordinated & organized, power tool carrying thieves in & around Portland.

Dude that is some real dedication, even more than it takes to hold down a real job. Pathetic losers. Good idea with the small welds, ill keep that in mind when I spend the money
