    So many people recommending sliders that don't even have a scuff on them, lol. Someone could make a killing offering cheap plastic sliders on here if all you care about is parking lot damage and looking pretty.

    What's the secret to keeping stuff from hitting the top and sides? Would be nice to keep the door panels and fenders from getting smashed if there's a trick out there.

    I drug my driver's side slider over the top of a rocky dirt mound this weekend. Went home, washed the sliders off, masked off the truck and hit that area with spray paint. Voila, black sliders again!

    Most of the protection of sliders are going to come from underneath and the the sides. Driving off steep drop offs? Sliders. Sliding sideways towards a tree? Sliders.

    My whole point is how do you recommend something if you haven't put it through it's paces first? You're free to trust the guy telling you his spotless sliders on his truck with 20" wheels work amazingly. I just personally don't see much sense in it.

    Come wheeling with us down here in Alabama, and then you'll see why sliders are needed... PLENTY of folks out there that have put their sliders to the test. Don't let black sliders fool you, folks just like to touch them back up after they get rock rash that's all. I don't know anybody here that runs 20" rims... You sound like a slider skeptic.

    Again... I just don't see how you're bashing some rock sliders to the point of vouching for their durability if your truck looks pristine and damage is limited to a piece of metal along the door. Are you some sort of wizard?

    I'm not sure if this whole concept is more complicated to grasp than it seems or if everyone is just defending unnecessary weight bolted onto their trucks. The majority of these pics posted have clearly not taken a significant impact so how do they know if their sliders will hold up? I used to think my bolt on AP Apex sliders were going to do something until the first real hit they took and the mount bent to shit. They seemed sturdy, well constructed, and were aesthetically pleasing. Did I know how well they'd hold up until they took a hit? No, and I wouldn't insult everyone's intelligence on here by pretending otherwise. A lot of the sliders that people in this thread have recommended have fewer mount points than the Apex's and also appear untested, so forgive my skepticism.
